The birthday girl just 'texted' me this photo. How can you not be having a great birthday when you are at DISNEYLAND! :woohoo:

.

If my mom did my laundry like that, I would NEVER get a new washer!!

That's what I was thinking! :lmao:

Deb's flu is better...but she still cancelled her trip down to the beach...read part of her PM below.

We are not going to make it to the beach. My stomach flu is better and we could have come, but now I have a new development.....my right leg turned red, blew up and I'm in excruciating pain. I can't put any pressure on it and I'm walking with crutches. It's best if I stay local and monitor it.

DEB - hope your leg is coming down! :grouphug::grouphug:

I see you're back to your old selves again and talking a lot. I would never do that to you.

This is my life right now.....my daughter is on the phone and has been for an hour, my son is on the Wii and has been for 3 hours and my husband is on the phone working (well head hunting). I thought I had a few years until this happened. I guess not.

:lmao:

:cool1:HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEN AND CHERIE!:cool1:

Ken was busy today, he got Shaelyn to her Brownie's campout and mowed the backyard. All before Kaleigh & I got home from swimming lessons. We did bring him his favourite doughnut (Boston Cream) and Ice Cap Supreme from Tim Hortons. He doesn't get birthday cake until tomorrow night when Shaelyn's back.

And to add to his birthday, it looks like he'll be sharing it with more than Cherie. Ken's sister is in labour (started last night) so we're expected a niece this morning. Its kind of funny - Shaelyn was born on Ken's other sisters birthday, now he's getting a niece on his birthday. :rotfl:

Have a great weekend everybody!

Hi Marilyn, How are you all holding up in the rain? We are pretty sick of it ourselves.....at least it's not as bad as just a little east and north of us....they have rivers instead of roads!

We have done quite well really. Each day gets a bit better and apart from a couple of showers at lunchtime it has been a lovely day, and I think I am glowing slightly!!! Went to MK and had breakfast at CP - really not very busy at all - I expected it to be heaving today.

Marilyn are you sleeping? You're suppose to be waking up :flower3:

Up quickly and away for 6.45am to get to MK for 7.45!! No time to play. No time hardly to finish getting ready!

I don't even want to know where she is going :sad2:

It's where she went. She has to get off the Magic tomorrow.

She is home... she has responded on FB...

It could be snow... :scared:

Packing on the last night to have luggage out before 11pm is the WORST part of cruising....I NEVER know what to keep for the next day!

Clean undies...

Also,I have more after the cruise than before.....I need to learn to pack better for travelling.

Actually I need to go into my closet and throw out 2/3 of everything in there!

At least (usually), you don't have to try and get it on a plane home... :lmao:

Some photos from Sukie's day out today. I myself went to Costco.

I did not dress up.

I bought him the boots as a birthday present a few years ago. Honestly, I don't know how I find these things for him. You should see the chain mail.

The boots might come on the next cruise. The chain mail stays home. I think it weighs about 30 or 40 pounds.

Marilyn is in Florida... if she were awake, she'd have MY hours...

I am completely mesmerized by Gaylean's pouring champagne! It's making me thirsty.

AND tipsy...

Good Morning All!

I can't believe I slept until 6:50 AM today! I hardly ever sleep that late. I feel like the day's half over.

Going to be busy today. It's time to drag the fountain out of the basement and set it up in the front garden.

This is my last Saturday off for a few weeks. For the next few weeks I'll be leading a Saturday 8 AM and 9 AM meeting in addition to my normal 3 Sunday meetings. I offered to sub for a meeting leader who has been diagnosed with cancer and will be off on medical leave. That is so sad. I to help out and pick up some of her meetings on a rotating basis.

I rarely fill in for people, mainly because everything is during the day, or in the evening, soon after work and too far away making it impossible for me to get to. In this situation I knew I could help.

On a cheerier note, we are having incredible weather here in Chicago. Not a cloud in the sky and about 70F.

Sukie has thrown himself into his gardening and the big focus is THE GARDEN WALK that happens mid-summer. All attention is on the garden.

I will be on my own later this afternoon, because Sukie is going downtown to the International Mr Leather contest. This has been happening in Chicago on Memorial Day Weekend, for the past 30 years or more. Think of it like the Miss Universe contest, but with men in leather pants. And yes, it is a global event with participants and attendees from around the world.

Sukie is dressing up and going down to the Leather Mart, a huge section of vendors at the hotel. He makes an appearance every year, more to keep himself in the public eye because of the writing, etc.

I believe that this year his ensemble is going to be some thigh high pirate boots that I got him for his birthday a few years ago, tuxedo tails and a fez. I'm not sure what the other accessories are.

I am not going, because these sorts of things are more "on stage" events for him, and I just find them very boring, because usually nobody talks to me and I'm on my own.

However between now and him meeting his adoring public, we're going to the grocery store.

Did I ever tell you you were a sweetheart? & I'm already ahead, so I LOVE the pics...

Please tell Sukie that the garden at Spearhead Downs is going in as soon as the storm over my head goes away... (and the sun comes up in the AM...)

Ian, will there be photos on Facebook later????

that reminds me....haven't been on facebook in days, better stop by and check that out....

.

Ian...it's that Jackie Woman again... :hippie:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHERI!!!

Hope you are having a great birthday weekend!!!

:dance3::rockband:party:party:party:

Kathe

I love when Kathe does that...

(oh and Ken too!!!!!) :banana::banana::banana::banana:

Do I have to add another celebration to our DVC booking?

But of course... Our anniversaries of OUR births will have only been a few weeks prior... doesn't Betty Windsor celebrate her's later???

That's another suitcase in itself...

The chain mail is AWESOME! I got to see him wear it with the thigh high boots. :thumbsup2

Great picture from today! Pink bullets?! :rotfl: Love the whole look! :goodvibes

Hi everybody! Happy birthday Cheri & Ken!

I have good news....Comcast called me and asked if I'm still looking for an earlier installation date. Um....YEAH! So they're coming on Wednesday! :cool1: That's much better than the originally scheduled 6/1.

I had to run out do a couple stores, so I brought my laptop, thinking I'd get online at the library. Wrong! The library is closed all weekend for the holiday. But I'm able to sit in their parking lot and access their wireless internet. ;) But it's hot, so I have to have the car on for the air conditioning, but I'm low on gas, so I'm going to have to head to the gas station in a minute. Just wanted to catch up and pop in and say hi! :grouphug:

So Friday night I went to bed around 11pm and slept until 2pm Saturday afternoon! It was great! Then I got up, ate, cleaned the guinea pig cage, did a load of laundry, and went back to sleep around 4:30pm until 8pm. :goodvibes Stayed up until midnight and went back to sleep until noon today. :goodvibes I finally feel fully rested (unusual for me) and today will be spent cleaning my kitchen and bedroom and bathroom, and possibly the garage if I still am in the cleaning mood. :thumbsup2 Might sleep in one more time tomorrow until Tyler's dad calls me to pick him up early in the afternoon.

A VERY RELAXING WEEKEND!!!! :cloud9:

Marilyn, I'm glad the weather is clearing up a bit for you.

Shannon, I hope Shaelyn has fun at camp!

Gaylean, sounds like you have time to DIS now!

Lisa, thanks for the updates on Deb.

Deb, if you're reading, I'm sorry your leg is acting up, but hope you've gone to the doctor because this sounds worse than usual.

Well, I'm glad others decided to join me... I thought "I knew it... someday I'd be the only one left on the thread...":rotfl:

At least (usually), you don't have to try and get it on a plane home... :lmao:
OH Yeah! we had an interesting time last year trying to bring all our stuff home from California without airline penalties....we squeeked through.......

Up quickly and away for 6.45am to get to MK for 7.45!! No time to play. No time hardly to finish getting ready!
That's the great part about b eing on "British" time. You wake up MUCH dearlier than we do here!

That's never going to happen! Remember, people are probably out this weekend at barbeques or picnics or something Memorial Day-ish. ;)
