Deb - that is great about the weight loss - good job. Ian & Venetia - great diet tips about checking online and putting 1/2 food away at the start of the meal. I have to remember those!

Can you believe tomorrow is our PC anniversary day? My neighbors just left for Rome for a 12-day Princess cruise to Venice for their 40th anniversary. I ordered them flowers and the anniversary package...I'm so excited for them, and combined with seeing the beginning of your report Monica I really want to cruise!

But for now, Disneyland will have to hold me over. We decided to forgo the economy route and do Disneyland hotel - our youngest hasn't been to Disneyland and I'm just craving some magic. We leave Thursday after work, we are sneaking in the cheapest standard room that night since we will get in late (max occup is 5 but we will get in so late I don't think they wil care/notice), and then move to a 1-bedroom for the next 2 nights. We got the package through AAA so I think we get priority seating to a show. Quentin is going to wrap up the brochure along with their lanyards and we will open this week-end. I can't wait to see the kids face when they find out we are leaving on Thursday! Aidan (6) was just saying he doesn't remember any of the rides at Disneyland and really wants to go back.

The one thing I don't understand about the whole coffee thing is why Disney never partnered with Starbucks - or have they? Seems to me that would be one way to get some better coffee in the resort.

Have a great time Lisa!!! (actually... take us with you!!!;))

Thanks Michelle! What a nice surprise to see that after I finished my post! Glad I'm still up!

You're welcome... too bad my computer died... we could have chatted...

Good Morning Mickey Lovers....I had such a great time last night. I did so good at Olive Garden. I ate 1/2 of everything....breadstick, salad, chicken parm and spaghetti. I even had one glass of wine then switched to unsweetened iced tea. I ordered cheese cake for desert and didn't eat any of it....I brought it home to eat half of today and half tomorrow.

When we got to Becky's drive in I had water that I brought from home and even split a funnel cake with John. I cut it right down the middle and ate one half. At the end of the night, I only had to use 3 points from my weekly points. I did really good.

The best part is that today I have leftovers to eat. I'll be careful with my points count and if I have to use a few more weekly points I will.

Oh and I LOVED LOVED LOVED Star Trek....."I can't say what I usually do because it would be self serving.....so good luck." OMG that was just so awesome.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

JACKIE - I'm off that entire week now (so really off starting on the 5th until the 20th) so can come play at any time....I even told Ian & he said we can have a slumber party :yay: Send list & we'll plan.

Online res thing seems to be working well....I've booked 3 different things myself thru the ta site & it's pretty painless :thumbsup2

So I have to pack a sleeping bag now?????

We had a great time at Connie's, and she was a fab hostess. We had wonderful food and Connie looked after us all so well. They have a lovely home full of great Disney souvenirs and interesting pieces.

There were Connie, Chuck and Patrick, Lisa and Darrell, Kathe, Gydell, Monica, John and Me, some neighbours of Connie's who were DCL cruisers and Disney mad too!!, and a couple from Wales who had cruised with Connie before. Great group.

I took photos, but can't post yet, but I am sure Monica will do so VERY SOON!!! There was lots of reminiscing, chat about the Baltic as Gydell and Lisa are going next year and wanted to hear all about Monica's trip, and some looking at photos, which included some very cute ones of Kathe's grandaughter Serenity.

I'm very full!!!

Thank you Connie and Chuck.
Marilyn, it sounds like a wonderful evening! :goodvibes

Tyler asked me today if we can go to the Michigan Historical Museum tomorrow. It's free, so I'm happy to go! ;) He's such a history buff, it's nice going somewhere he really enjoys. And we definitely have to get the back yard mowed tomorrow for sure.

Well, it's getting late, I'm getting sleepy (which is strange since I slept until 4pm), so I'm off to bed. Maybe one more night of great sleep will leave me fully recharged! :goodvibes

Goodnight all! :cloud9:

AND YOU SHOULD READ MY CAPITAL POSTS IN A LOUD VOICE!! I AM VERY EMPHATIC!

Anyway, I really do hope it cools off enough to sit outside tonight....we'll see.
We can always play BUNCO!!!! ( a game which I think none of you have ever heard of.....)

Hey... will you PLEASE keep it down... people are trying to sleep up here... :lmao:

I know how to play BUNCO.....unfortunately, not via long distance.

I'll be making phone contact with you all tonight...Monica will call me from her cell...she says she has a lot of unused minutes! :woohoo:

Not after I called she didn't... :rotfl:

It has been a busy day, and it's only past noon here!

We've run all of our usual Saturday errands, had the dogs groomed, and I cleaned out our storage locker in the basement.

After this last trip, I decided I had enough of cheap luggage. I got sick of one of the bags not being able to stand and falling over.

I added the third piece of our rolling duffles to complete the set. Very very sturdy, pack and travel well, and threw out ALL of the rest of the cheap bags that were in the locker. I kept a very good Atlantic carry on that I use for business and an Atlantic rolling garment bag that I use for business (and tuxes) and pitched everything else.

It was like a suitcase graveyard, and most of it in bad condition, ripped, broken zippers, etc. I'm not quite sure why I was hanging on to them to begin with.

Also now everything matches. Which doesn't make much of a difference, but will be so pleasant when either Jackie or Cheri stays inside all day at the Wilderness Lodge to do all the laundry.

Old luggage = good memories...

& nice try getting the Bobsy twins to do the laundry... :rotfl:

How fun that will be....and don't forget Michelle and me too and....:rolleyes1

I called FIRST!!! :banana::banana:

I have uploaded the photos of our recent vacation in Disney World for anyone interested in holiday snapshots.

Sometimes we take photos of details. I tend to use these as wallpaper on my computer.

My current wall paper is the mosaic floor at Wine Country Trattoria in Disney's California Adventure. At work, people are always commenting on my desktop wallpaper. There are several photos from this trip that are going to be wallpaper for me.

At any rate, here's the link:

I currently have the D A M N birdbath as my wall paper... :rotfl2:

I LOVE THIS PICTURE.....and I don't know why....

.

Me too... :goodvibes

Bravo! Good for you! Well done at the brunch.

Regarding our last day before the cruise, we are staying in the MK neighborhood.

A little motor boating could also be a rather grand activity.

Ian... are you going to charter the Grand 1??? it's only about $400 an hour...

They sort of look alike, don't you think? The expression in the eyes? The gray in Sukie's shirt matches Eyore, and the droop of Sukie's mustache matches the droop of Eyore's ears.

A sort of symmetry to the composition.

& my mom loves them both... :lovestruc:lovestruc

You know, a good thing, aside from the company, is that in September we can pass cameras around!

Maybe Sukie and I can be in a photograph at the same time!

Proof that you actually travel together?

John and I talked about doing some boating too in Sept...except we're going there after the cruise not before. We usually go to the marina at the Contemporary. Where do you go? Do you rent them from where you're staying on property?

Someone needs to explain a Dole Whip to me. I have never had one and I'm not sure what it is. Where at the Poly do you get them? Are they high in points?:confused3

Dole whip is kind of a non-dairy ice cream type of soft serve in fruit flavors... they have pineapple at the MK (Aloha Isle) with or without Pineapple juice and they have just the soft serve at the Poly...

We had sort of an impromptu Dole Whip party at the Poly the night before the cruise last year...

Monica is asking for prayers and pixie dust. Her dad spent 14 hours at the emergency room in Maryland (where he's visiting her sister) today. It took 8 hours for him to even be seen! He's resting at her home now, but it looks like he has a blood clot in his leg. He was planning on heading home to South America on Tuesday, I believe.

:grouphug: for Monica and her family :grouphug:

Monica... you know we're here for you...:hug::hug::hug::hug:

I just zipped through 14pages to get caught up. :thumbsup2

Enjoyed seeing everybody's pictures.

Marilyn - thanks for the update on the Connie meet. Sounds like a great time was had by all. :)

Nan - hope you're having fun with your flooring changes. :goodvibes

Ok... I went to bed at about 5:30 ish... and Michael called me at 10 minutes to 6 with work to do...

Someone please tell me why I'm on call 24/7?:sad2:

That's what happens when you mix work and pleasure! But isn't the pleasure worth it? ;)

Deb - :thumbsup2 great job staying on plan! And I enjoyed that Lost reading you shared!

Ken cracked me up when he said: "Here's a pic of the Candidate (green outfit), Shirley Bond, and a large portion of the Team. These people became like family over the last few months.

Sending out positive thoughts for Monica and her family! Thank goodness that didn't happen on board ship!

Hey Shannon...

I'll have to let you know about the pleasure part ...(no I won't...:rotfl2:)

I discovered a fun benefit of sleeping all day.....I have all my points to use in a short time, so I can eat and eat and eat nonstop! :rotfl2:

I had a gal pal once who increased her sleep hours as a diet aid (to avoid being awake and hungry)! But actually, there are studies that have shown that plenty of sleep aids in weight loss, and lack of sleep promotes poor eating habits (like grabbing sugar and cafine for energy). So I think a 30 minute work out and a 90 minute nap every day sounds about right! :lmao:

What an interesting and memorable day that was! I wish I'd had enough stamina to stay on deck the entire day. I basically missed Gatun Lake because I was in my cabin cooling off and sleeping!:rotfl: I guess that just means I have to do it again in, what is it?? 2011? :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I also napped on crossing day. :upsidedow

Went to Peg's after dinner and spent 30 minutes splashing around in the pool. Now I'm really, really sleepy and will toddle off to bed....goodnight!

.

Happy Birthday Lisa
mean it remind me that we were sailing Panama Canal ::yes::

Have a lovely day....

Thank you! Wish we could do last year all over again.

Hope you have the happiest birthday ever Lisa. So glad you're going to DL with the family. You're going to have an awesome time. Post pictures! We want to share.
I will post pictures - but I have to remind myself how to do that! It has been some time. We are going to give the kids the gift tomorrow.
Have a great day!

DL sounds wonderful - have a great time there too!
Thank you! I hope your father is doing better.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA

Thank you!!

....have you thought about girl's names yet? Just curious. Inquiring minds and all that.:rolleyes1
Gee, I'm having a hard time with that. I was thinking Cole, Calvin, tons of boys names -but girl names just don't come to mind yet. :confused3

Remember, we played Bunco on the cruise!! I think we had 30 or 40 playing.
I remember that! That was fun.

That is funny about the Family Photo!
Thanks for the good wishes -
and thanks Kaylee, Bubba, & Nan & Michelle for the Facebook birthday wishes.

I just got back from a school auction. Crazy money being thrown around, but all for the kids school so that is good. Personal parking spot went for $16k. A dinner for 8 that was just described as "Red" - everything will be red - went for $18k. A few moms and I went together to offer a live item that is for 5 couples called "Valentine's in Vegas" - it is for a night out in Vegas, renewing vows, table service, etc. It went for $11k. I did a couple small items, but nothing to big. I would have MUCH rather hung out with you all in Rockin Bar smoking candy ciggies. Now THAT is my idea of a party! :woohoo:

Sigh ... I suppose things are back to normal. I am up early on a Sunday and about to head out the door to lead my 3 WW meetings.

On the plus side, it means that that extra pay is coming in. It goes directly into my "Mickey Money Fund!"

(sure... not ONCE does she mention even REMEMBERING talking to me... :snooty::snooty::snooty::snooty::snooty:)

Oops, upset the queen now.

Yes, some of us had a chat with Michelle, and Barb too!!!!!!! It was great to heat their voices.

Another thing I forgot to mention was that Gydell is almost a whole person less!!! She has lost 86 lbs!!! She looks fantastic.

Everyone else looked great too!!!

Monica showed us a different way back to the villa so we didn't have to pay tolls. We hardly stopped at a traffic light at all, very smooth running.

Scanned the posts quickly and noticed that ya'll need :grouphug::flower3::cheer2::lmao::banana::scared1::grouphug:. I am sending only the best wishes for everyone.

I forgot to post pictures from Aruba - Connie it was fun touring with you that day.

Here you go Deb - Photobucket was upgrading and my stuff was MIA for a few days.

Sandy

Hi Guys, I've been thinking about all of you so much this week! I just went through about 50 pages of catch up. sounds like everyone has been doing so much.

A big Congrats to Lisa and Quentin! I'm so glad to hear this news.

Deb, it sounds like you are really doing well w/WW. Sorry about John's job!

Ian, Sukie and Cherie - sounds like you had a great, great time all of you in separate places. Hope Sukie is feeling better, I noticed no nose ring.

sounds like the Floridians had a nice get together!!

Monica, glad your trip went well, sorry about the sick leave.

Nan, wow, so much is going on up there. sounds like Wilson is going fast, Molly is doing great and good news about Paul's work. Sorry, your mom and sisters not so good.

And apparently, Marilyn has moved to WDW permanently because it was pages and pages of their fabulous trip!!!

We've been unbelievably busy here. We're launching several new divisions of our company and program this summer. One is for homeschoolers that I specifically did because of all of my relationships I've made here on the Dis with my home school families. I've been working hard on our website and webinars that we will begin this summer as well. We're using the same program they used on the show 24. I worked on the spring benefit as well that sucked the life out of me. We too had the crazy buying by families. They had tkts to Oprah and a ride on an aircraft carrier in Coronado that went for $21K!!!!! I bought ballet lessons and that was it. Good thing they weren't depending on me to keep the school rolling.

Hard to believe it has been a year already. Which day did we go through the canal?

Just a reminder about what a lot of us ordered one year ago today:

192825.jpg

Nooooooooooo!!!!! How disappointing was that?????

I still haven't had a proper slipper dessert.:sad2: I thought that was going to be it as did all the ladies on our table.

Just a reminder about what a lot of us ordered one year ago today:

192825.jpg

NO No no......I'm going through the let down all over again.:sad1::sad1:This had to be the lowest point of our trip. Now I could almost cry again.:sad2:

Does anyone know if DCL still serves this ugly thing?
