So glad you are feeling better Bubba. Have a fun weekend. Give our love to Venetia, Gaylean and Jon.

Perhaps you had better keep off the alcohol this weekend.:confused3;)

 NEVER Plus his stomach was better than mine :scared:

Just read through all the posts, and it sounds like WW is getting new members.

And yup, I'm the one doing WW on-line. Between Ian, Venetia, Gaylean and co-workers, I'd heard lots abot WW that got me interested. For me, meetings aren't practical (the only options in Quesnel are not do-able for me). I started just over 2 weeks ago, and I like that its making me think about the foods I eat. I like being able to look up different foods, and plan when to use my weekly flex points. I also really like being able to pick the weigh-in day, which for me is Friday. I like going into the weekend with a clean slate.

Deb - I do cook, but I've been using some of the WW Smart Ones meals for lunches and they are very tasting. I really like the chicken szechuan. I also like most veggies, so I've been making sure to keep some around for snacks, (cauliflower, rutabaga, bell peppers, etc). We've got some microwave steaming bags, that make steaming veggies super easy.

A big change that I've made is to cut back on drinking juice and pop. And of course, thinking about portions.

And now after all that, I'm off to eat a piece of cheesecake, which I planned to fit into my daily points.

But before I go, I just wanted to share that Ken and I celebrated our 11th anniversary yesterday  Its gone by so quickly, in June we will actually have been together for 19yrs, we just took our time getting to the married stage.

I read all the posts and I wanted to say good luck to everyone that is starting a weight loss journey. We all know it is hard and maybe together we can stick with it. Thanks to Ian for all of his inspirational words.

Happy Anniversary Ken and Shannon.

Your spirit of adventure is sorely lacking.

Ahh but my adventure is set on the pictures and the opportunities! I'll take all the cables, gizmos and gadgets and I'll take 3000 pics.

Try taking 3000 pics (with a flash) with the instamatic. We'll see who has enough $$ left to go on another vacation. ;)

That's common once people start tracking and learning point values. Research shows that without tracking most people underestimate what they eat.

In my 9:30 am meeting yesterday, a member talked about having what she called "sticker shock" after looking up the points for a meal she had out with her husband, and that she would have made very different choices had she known.

I use to eat a frozen potpie that was 60 grams of fat. I never found out the points value because I knew I would never eat it again. It wasn't even that good. I knew it wasn't the healthiest but I didn't know I could go and get a good dinner for the same points. Since I started working, I'm not getting enough water in.

Just checking in once again before I head out. Unfortunately, this webpage timed outwhen I signed in earlier and and now I ahve no idea where it was when I was last on here. So I have no idea how many pages to go back.

I'll have to ask Shannon if I missed anything ...

You missed a lot about weight watchers and losing weight. I really skimmed so I can't tell you much more.

I just want to know who brings a monkey to the park? And do we really want to know what that guy in the muscle shirt is smoking?

I take two monkeys to the park weekly ;) and I think I've seen that guy in the muscle shirt there. We try to stay away:lmao::lmao: I wouldn't want the kids to get a contact high.

I'm all caught up. The weekend was fun but I can't tell you much more because I am still hearing about it myself :rolleyes1

You can keep the snow there, Holly! We're getting rain, and that's okay with me :thumbsup2

Kathe

We hae had rain here all day RAIN....RAIN....RAIN and more RAIN. About 3 inches so far today.

Cool out too.....45 degrees.....

But 80 degrees this weekend!!

OOOh! I know! I absolutely love Pot Pies, but I have noticed that I don't enjoy them as much. In fact, I usually cook a package of frozen veggies to go with one when I DO have one.....funny how your tastes change when you have been eating low fat/low sodium foods, you really notice the difference!

Chuck bought some Mrs. Smith's chicken pot pies when he went to the warehouse club the other day, they will probably sit in the freezer for a long time.

You don't really want to know how many points there are in a pot pie.

What??/ snowing tomorrow - are you joking??

Here was lovely day today as 17 with sunny.... Cannot believe that as last Friday was really cold day then change over lovely weather for two days... wonder what weather tom...

What a crazy weather

No joking! But today it was melting right when it hit the ground, so I only saw it while it was falling. The weather report has changed and it now says snow showers Wednesday and Thursday but 80F on Friday and Saturday! :rotfl2:

rather than the negitive talk on the points/calories, isn't there a subsitute that would give the feeling/taste of pot pie without the calories?

Try focusing your food choices on filling foods, especially zero point foods. They will be filling and give you the biggest bang for the buck.
I will when I have a chance to do some grocery shopping. Today I had to try to make do with what was on hand because we've been too busy to shop. After work I didn't have much time, but picked up a few things. I'm excited about the 1pt WW yogurt! Got a few WW Smart Ones meals, WW cream cheese for bagels (but forgot the bagels in my hurry) and lots of fruit. I'll make a list for next time though and will look add more of the filling foods. Thanks! :goodvibes

I ended up 5 points over today, BUT that's much better than yesterday when I was like 17 points over! So it shows I did pay attention today and I wasn't starving. Hopefully that means I'll get better and better at this every day. I'm starting to think I can do this!

It was 100 hear today. I think it is a record high or close to it. I just got the tale end of the newscast.
Holy cow, I'd pass out if I were in that kind of heat. I don't like summer because I've never been able to handle heat well. Unfortunately, Tyler's the same way.

Wow. It sounds like you're getting the hang of it. and are really starting to put the right pieces into place.
