Ian... will you please come over and slap the Queen Mum upside the head???

She's starting to talk "old" again... like the words "if I'm still moving" have come out in the last couple of days...

She's fine... she really is...

But I fear she may be trying to talk herself into it...

I'm getting nowhere with her...

Perhaps you can try?? :confused3

Hi Michelle. Did you notice I was back?;)

Absolutely!!!! Did I forget to tell you good morning???

That's because my computer is dying on me and gets stuck and I just shut it down - often with lots of things to say and do...

We do have cookies. They are softer, chewy etc.

So are ours... and now I'm hungry... :rotfl:

Not as of yet and I've had to stop drinking lime juice... it has upset my tummy...

and I'm about to retire to my sickbed... so I can go and watch the stuff I taped on my DVR over the weekend...

And to think... it all started with dinner at Jumpin Jacks...

Oh and Marilyn... they are "guessing" over on the main threads that the next PC repo may be between Feb and April because the new ship is due 1st quarter in 2011...

He took 2nd place in the MAIN

The best part of the story was that Chole the girl from IKF (that we think is stalking him) that lives in Las Vegas DNF. She and the 1st place kid got into it and her valve stem broke and her tire went flat....so sad (NOT) so 1st, 2nd & 3rd to our "team" Cambrian Go-karts. The boy that took 1st has 1 year of faster speed racing on Willie. He will be hard to beat but we'll get there...just like last year, we're on the hunt, but this time with a good group of kids. I'm sure Chole will come up again (& again) but it's our local track so this was a GREAT way to start the season. Pictures coming soon I'm uploading them now
HOORAY FOR WILSON!!!!!! What an awesome way to start the season! WOOHOO!!!!!! GREAT JOB SPEED WILSON!!!!! We're all so proud!

Well, Tyler and I had a nice, long nap. I crashed on the couch and he went up into his bed. It felt wonderful!

In a little bit, we're headed over to my friend Don's house for one of his famous prime rib dinners. Yummy! Tyler doesn't like beef, so I'll be bringing dinner from home for him. That just leaves more of the good stuff for the rest of us. :thumbsup2

So, while I'm sitting here in the basement, between and waiting until I have to do the next thing on the keyboard, I decided to go through all of my disks of software and files.

I filled up an entire garbage bag with disks. I had disks going back to the early 90's! Plus diskettes! I haven't used diskettes in years!

For any of you who know Macs, I threw out diskettes of OS 7.5, 8 and 9!

Collector's items!

No, don't mail them to me . . . I probably have them in a container in the basement, right beside my Apple IIe with the duodisk and 4.5" floppies.

Have you started using Safari 4 Ian? I have, and while most people find the new tab structure annoying, what drives me crazy is that the refresh is not a button now, but resides in the address bar. So many times that I have refreshed these pages that I just CAN'T get used to it!

Now, all of you Americans listen up! I want you to notice how reserved the British are! Notice, that Marilyn said, "Monica, takes the biscuit", we would have said, "Monica takes the cake." Notice how modest the British are by comparison to us.

(I have no clue what the Canadians, say, probably, "takes the turnip," or "takes the twig," or something along those lines.)

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

got me laughing outloud too Ian ;)

You're welcome... I'd have at least hit the Jelly Belly Factory and...

GO SPEED!!!!

The Jelly Belly Factory was on the way to Dixon, we don't pass it on the way to this track, so sorry Charlie....But Paul promised dinner at House of Prime Rib on the way home when Willie wins...I can't wait for that day Yipee!!!!

Mr. Speed is taking a shower now, (yes he still smells, hasn't had one from last night yet) so when he is back I'll show him your posts and let him tell you thanks for them. He is a bit happy today, but his Daddy is even more happy. The stress is over for a minute or 2, until next month.

We do have cookies. They are softer, chewy etc.

Marilyn, Marilyn, Marilyn ... dear, sweet, misguided, Marilyn.

This is a Americanism that has crept into British English over the past 20 years. When I lived there, people did not use the word cookie, which as we all know has it's origins with the Dutch.

Cookie crept into American English because of the Dutch colony of Nieuw Amsterdam, and then later became part of standard American English, along with other such words as stoop (as in front stairs to a house), boss, and poppycock (which is sluring of poppekak, which means, 'powdered doll poop' ... OK, don't ask me why, it just is.).

Marilyn, you are not holding up your end (I mean your end of the job of preserving the language. I don't mean literally holding up your "end.")

The British have already absorbed such Americanisms as "commute," "cocktail," and other such things.

So, for the sake of the Empire, please use care with the words you choose.

It has started snowing here ... hard! Crap!

I am at last done migrating the two Mac!

My new machine is all set up (I'm on it now) and I'm loving it because of the 24-inch screen and it's just so gosh darn peppy! Even Windows running under a virtual PC on my Mac is faster than my supped up HP Laptop at work!

I was up past 11PM yesterday, migrating Sukie's stuff from his old Mac to my old Mac (which was not exactly a wimpy machine).

I finished it off, part before I left for WW this morning and part when I came home.

Last night there were general hysterics around the migration of his stuff. I don't see why? He only has his history book on his old machine, which represents about 10 years of research and writing. I can't imagine why he was nervous.

(And yes we have backups of his stuff. We have backups up the wahzoo!. His machine backs-up every hour to an external drive using an Apple Mac feature called Time Capsule. His files also backup continuously with every change he makes to an external service called "Sugarsync." Something I also use and is FABULOUS, but that's another story. In addition his files backup to another external source called iDisk on the web.)

However, he was nervous that I was going to lose something.

This afternoon, he was happy as a clam. He is happy with the machine.

In fact, I had to readjust to a new noise in the house .... silence. Not quite sure how to react now that the whining buzz is gone.

Sukie will be using TWO iMacs this week, his new one, and the old one to cross check in case he thinks I failed to move something over.

I think NEXT weekend, I start getting his old iMac cleaned off and ready for it's next owner. I think that it quite a fine machine and will be even better once I wipe it clean and do a nice fresh install.

So, now my time is my own.

Now off to dinner.

Well, the weekend is about over.

I worked both days, but got to fit in some other things along the way.

Yesterday, Sophia and I went to "Art is Alive", a local art festival here at our Cultural Center where local artists sell their work. She picked up a couple of pieces of Jewelry - one, a bracelet made from old silver spoons, and another a pendant made from a small domino painted on one side. Unique cool stuff.

Then we went to see the exhibit at the museum - Kimono as Art. Only showing in two places in the US - Canton, and San Diego - go figure. Actually, a wealthy local businessman had a hand in bringing it here. While they were quite beautiful and I can appreciate the craftsmanship - not quite my cup of tea.

Today, since the sun was shining, it was yardwork after work (the first cut of the season) and power washing outdoor furniture. Then a quick bike ride after dinner.

I'm bushed!

But we want to go SLEDDING just one more time! :yay: And it's gonna happen! Latest report says NINE INCHES! :woohoo: We're going to forget all about cleaning and spend all day outside! 'Cause you know it will all melt the next day, so might as well enjoy it while we can! :dance3:
