Thanks Marilyn. Just living life and doing what I think I am supposed to. Hopefully, mom will spend the summer with one of my brothers and give me a little break.

The crying is what gets me.....I tell the doctor she is depressed and she says "No I am not"...he has tried so many different meds and she flushes tem down the tiolet and won't take them.....

Oh well, everything will be just fine. I know how lucky I am to have a great job so I can do this.....

Has anyone seen that commerical on TV with the women who quits her job and moves to her mom's city to take care of her as the mom in failing? I think it is for credit cards to talk to the credit people if you are behind in your payments and tell them what is going on.

BOY does that commerical make me feel guilty. I have taken my mom into my home, kicked my youngest daughter out of her bedroom/bathroom so my mom can have it. But that is nothing compared to the women who uprooted everything and moved....:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Wow Lisa, I really feel for you. I was fortunate enough to have mom live around the corner from me. She was close enough to care for on a regular basis, but it wasn't good all the time....like when she would fall down.

My mom probably did the right thing with her parents. She moved them out of their house and into hers when they were elderly, but not very sick yet. They lived in a mother/daughter type house.....one upstairs and one downstairs with separate entrances, kitchens, bathrooms, etc. It was easy to care for them in the end when they needed it.

I don't think you should uproot your life. I think the elderly should always move in with their children. The elderly are retired and don't have young kids. It's easier for them to move in with you.

Keep the faith. You're doing great. I hope your mouth heals soon.

haha I lost again this morning!!! You will be able to BUY WALT DISNEY WORLD before you are done!!

It will make Tyler's vacation extra special that when you go into one of those stores you can say, yes.....we can get that.....or use it to help pay for the tickets!! How are you going to buy your ticksts......?? There are ways to get them cheaper than at WDW.....I have done that and been VERY pleased!!
Well, I spent some time one day googling and found just about every place under the sun who sells WDW tickets and didn't see much variation in price. Who did you buy through?

Oh, and yes, I've already told Tyler he gets to have a couple of the $20 cash cards to go shopping with, so he's happy! He's also been saving money at home too and I think he's up to almost $40! He might end up having to buy something for me! ;)

Oh my gosh Ken, thank you! :thumbsup2 I'm going to print it and tape it to Tyler's bedroom door so he'll see it when he comes home Saturday!

Sorry your day didn't go so well.

That is nice of him...:goodvibes Tyler would love it...

Monica

Did you mention about NCL Cruise for Baltic? I cannot remember who mentioned about it... Cruise called Norwegian Jewel...

Anyway, I got email from my friend to tell me about Baltic for NCL for 2010..
Prices is realible....good... but we stay with our planning...

Well that is an advert, and I'm thinking not many people would uproot themselves like that, particularly if they have a family who needs them at home. Each person comes to their own decisions about these care situations, and all anyone can do is try their best.

Please don't add this guilt to how you are feeling as you really sound to be going above and beyond.

Oh my, I hope I keep sweet tempered(if I am that already;) ) and don't cause any of these problems.

It's a made up word by Mike Super, the magician. It can mean whatever you want....just use it impress people. Mike says they will smile and nod and not admit they don't know what the word means.

"He was the most lavinous person I've ever met"
"The movie was lavinous and I loved the cinamatogrophy"
"That lavinous waiter better get his behind over here....I'm hungry"

;) ;) He has lavinous T-shirts for sale on his web site I believe!

.

Well see, it did impress me!!! Well done Wilson.:lmao:

AWESOME pics Ken! They'll certainly bring back the memories for Tyler and build his excitement! :cool1:

HOORAY! It's lunch time! Look out Taco Bell, here I come! ;)

My previous reply to the overnight posts has disappeared. I must not have pressed the submit button!!!:confused3

Ah well.

I know I enjoyed Wilso's poem but didn't understand one of the words. Began with L!!!

Marilyn, the word you're thinking of is "lavinous". It's a made up word that a comedian on our cruise came up with. :thumbsup2

Looks like you have mis-spelled....this was so funny when we saw Mike Super!!

Urban Dictionary: lavenous - adj. A word that can be used at any time in any situation for any meaning. (Created my Mike Super)

I really enjoyed his shows on the Magic. :thumbsup2

Well see, it did impress me!!! Well done Wilson.:lmao:

haaaaahhhhaaaaahhhhaaaa

Wilson loved the show and has been on a mission all school year to find a way to use the word in a paper at school and not have it pointed out as incorrect. He hasn't had the nerve to use it yet, his teachers are really quick and would likely catch him so he is afraid to try it.

Thanks for the link to his site, I know I looked at it before and wanted to get Willie a shirt, but $25 is way too much for a shirt....I think I'll just make him one from home before we cruise the Repo TA April 2010 :thumbsup2

Lisa, I'm praying for you and you are doing all the right things

We're short-handed today because a co-worker is out dealing with a medical issue that just came up with her husband, but even with her gone, I still have NO WORK to do. :rolleyes1

Fortunately, I see two lawyers working on dictation in their offices, so I'll have something to do soon. Hopefully this means I'll have lots piled up waiting for me when I come in tomorrow morning. :goodvibes

Well,

1. The oral surgery I had two weeks ago just has not healed very well and I get very very tired.

2. Gretchen and Annie were in a production of Children of Eden by Stephen Schwatz. He did Wicked, Godspell and many more. He says Children of Eden is his favorite. They have been practicing since September. Friday, Sat and Sunday...we sold about 1500 tickets ($15,000) and almost all the money gets to go to missions!! (we did spend about $3000 on costuming) It was AWESOME. I will post some pictures soon. I did the program in full color and it was BEAUTIFUL.....

3. Mom is having a hard time. She will NOT live anywhere but here. Even the mention of it sends her into crying fits. We have given up.

I have missed you guys. I have been reading some....but not posting at all.

Lisa  You've had lots of stresses lately. Take it easy, I hope things improve soon, and that you can convince your mom to give you a break this summer. Sounds like the kids are keeping well and having a great time though :thumbsup2
Have a great time!

Banff is such a nice area! We went there often when we lived in Calgary. We really liked to go to Lake Louise too while there.

Thanks Lisa! I will not be going until Aug, maybe you can give me some tips on places to stay/visit when we meet up in May? You have moved around a lot, haven't you? Great way to see more of the world!

Good Morning All.

I have nothing to say.

Morning in Chicago

With the cold weather I had been moving very little, and was feeling the impact of my sedentary lifestyle. I was just too stiff and did not have as much energy as I would have liked.

I decided that I wanted to make a concerted effort to incorporate more movement and exercise into my typical day. Just make it part of my life. Just do more.

I already have a 4/5 mile walk everyday from the train to our house, but I wanted to bump it up.

So, I've made a few changes:

1. Come home from work at a decent hour and do 30 minutes on the Wii fit everyday

2. Go for a 25 minute walk everyday at lunch

3. Take an earlier bus to work and get off at an earlier stop and walk about 12 blocks to my office.

This last point is probably the most pleasant.

- It's dawn with the sky turning shades of purple and pink.

- It's quiet and there is very little traffic, so it's somewhat relaxing

- I experiment with different walking routes and discover new things

This morning I walked a new route and some of the scenes were, I thought, really pretty.

I have a iPhone now and so, snapped a couple of photos, that are below.

Ian, I knew you'd come up with something to say  ;)

These are great pics! Good for you for finding more opportunities for excercise. I always enjoy getting out for walks, especially in the spring. Last spring I would walk for half of my lunch on nice days. We only have 30 min lunches this year, so I won't have the time. But that does mean I get through my day earlier so hopefully I'll use the time then. I'm hoping my back improves quickly. I had a better day yesterday than today :headache:
BTW, my mom joined WW a couple of weeks ago and is loving it. It has motivated her to get out and start walking again too. She has lost a couple lbs and says she's not any hungrier, but she also told me about her dreams the last couple of nights, people keep coming and stealing all her food :lmao:

Ah well.

I know I enjoyed Wilso's poem but didn't understand one of the words. Began with L!!!

Was pleased connie now feels better.

Was pleased to see Lisa back, but sorry to hear about her problems. I think the mom situation will be helping cause the tiredness. Stress caouses tiredness, and if she isn't stressed with that she is amazing!!

Said hi to Planky.

That's all I can remember.

He says Hi back... and should be updating again shortly... :thumbsup2

I know lot's of people who would go to NYC for St. Paddy's DAY!!! ONly PARTY PEOPLE ALLOWED!!!!!

with GREEN beer!!!

I decided to be mean and call my mom when I got to work at 7am! :lmao: She's retired and always mentions how she doesn't have to get up for anything any more (it's a hard adjustment from what I hear), so I told her I decided to make her wake up early to start her birthday! ;) I told her to be on the lookout for a delivery sometime today. :thumbsup2

Holly... please forget when my birthday is... I prefer to sleep in... :lmao:

I know what it's like... we had both of my grandparents move in in 1984... my grandmother stayed only weeks before she went into the hospital - my grandfather was with us until 1993... part of the time with us, the other with my aunt... but alot of the caretaking fell to me bacause I was home with college and after the accident. it's not easy... and that's what I fear to go through with my mom. I expect it - the others don't know what it will be like and they will probably never really know because she will always be with me.

Lisa  You've had lots of stresses lately. Take it easy, I hope things improve soon, and that you can convince your mom to give you a break this summer. Sounds like the kids are keeping well and having a great time though :thumbsup2

Kathe... have you tried the heat pads that they have now - they are called Thermacare and you put them on your back and it stays for hours. they are quite good - get the ones that stick on (the ones for the shoulders) not the ones that wrap around you - then you can put them where you need and not feel like you are getting strangled in the mean time...

Michelle - whatever happened to Bubba on Facebook? He isn't on your friend's list.

If I click on his name on your wall, it comes up 'You don't have enough permissions to do that'. :confused3  With any of your other friends who aren't mine too, I just get the usual box up with basic info in.

Very odd.
