Morning in Chicago
With the cold weather I had been moving very little, and was feeling the impact of my sedentary lifestyle. I was just too stiff and did not have as much energy as I would have liked.
I decided that I wanted to make a concerted effort to incorporate more movement and exercise into my typical day. Just make it part of my life. Just do more.
I already have a 4/5 mile walk everyday from the train to our house, but I wanted to bump it up.
So, I've made a few changes:
1. Come home from work at a decent hour and do 30 minutes on the Wii fit everyday
2. Go for a 25 minute walk everyday at lunch
3. Take an earlier bus to work and get off at an earlier stop and walk about 12 blocks to my office.
This last point is probably the most pleasant.
- It's dawn with the sky turning shades of purple and pink.
- It's quiet and there is very little traffic, so it's somewhat relaxing
- I experiment with different walking routes and discover new things
This morning I walked a new route and some of the scenes were, I thought, really pretty.
I have a iPhone now and so, snapped a couple of photos, that are below.
