Hey Ken, there are just very few people I can talk to about this. You should be flattered that I PM'd you.

Sukie doesn't understand toasters (how do they "know" when the toast is ready) and things like scanners and fax machines.

I had thought you might be able to use your Garmin. In fact I thought you were already doing it.

I might be popping for the Amod later today. I have really become intrigued because of iPhoto '09 and Places.

Regarding a Mac ... Hmmm. There are still rumors (rumours) that a Quad Core is coming out this spring, except it might be in the 24" iMac and not the 20". It is also rumored (rumoured) that it will cost the same as current 24" iMacs. The 20" are rumored (rumoured) to continue to have the Duo Core.

I suspect that they might be timing it with the release of their next version of the OS, called Snow Leopard.

Snow Leopard will not have very much that is visible to the user, but under the covers will have BIG performance improvements and be able to really utilize the Quad Core. It will deliver HUGE performance boosts (over the already peppy OS).

However, a Quad Core really only becomes valuable (or so I think) for processing intensive tasks, like video rendering, graphics manipulation, and other higher end tasks.

Sukie has my older, not under warranty anymore, non-Intel based, 20" iMac.

IF, Apple comes out with new machines, the plan (not based on any sort of financial reality) is to transition Sukie to my 20" Duo Core, and get myself a 24" Quad Core.

I'm very flattered and honoured when anyone PM's me!!

And having said that, I must apologize to everyone that I haven't replied back to yet. Work has been hectic and being on the road making me miss my home didn't help me get caught up on here. I'm actually back on page 15 or so right now trying to get caught up to page 58!!

That and I have a tonne of stuff to do around the house today after Shannon finished doing a beautiful job laying the laminate flooring. Now I gotta put the rest of it back to rights.

I am kinda waiting for the quads as you said, to see if there is a price reduction on the Macs. I can get a newer (newer than my current one I am looking to replace) PC for free, but the iPhoto stuff for Mac is what really intrigues me. I've basically stopped playing games on the PC and now use it for surfing or working with Photos/Photoshop and MS Office products. And the MAC seems to do all that so much nicer - just more expensively.

Anyhow, back to catching up....

Guess I'll be shoveling tomorrow!

No smart remarks from you Ken, Michelle or Ian! :rotfl:

Well uhh ummmm...

How about .... Nice pics! Great camera you got there!! ;)

But why when I hear of Arizona having snow, do I think of those Capital One commercials where Hell has frozen over ....? ;)

Points value per recipe = 23 points
This is equal to about a entire day's worth of points target for some members.

I'm curious about these "points" for WW.

Are they like Carbon credits where you can just purchase "extra" points from someone who isn't using as many points, and thus with enough cash you can "pollute" your system all you want but still be within your limits?

;)

What's interesting is here in Canada, I don't find Walmart all that much cheaper. And even in some cases I find it more expensive than some places. They tend to have some good deals at times which will put them over the top, but in general they may only be a couple of cents cheaper than the other guys (usually $1.83 vs. $1.99).

Here in Quesnel they are big andwe shop there lots because it is the only game in town. Canada's discount retailer - Zellers - did a stupid thing here in town and basically let their store die by not bringing in new products to the local store and just brought in all the junk that the other stores couldn't sell. Thus the local store went under when WalMart came to town.

What is even funnier, is there are price differences between Walmarts in different locales. As I work in Prince George I have gone to that store and looked at an item only to find it cheaper there than at my local Walmart here in Quesnel. But in Prince George where there are more shopping options I tend not to go there, just because they aren't always cheaper.

Hello everyone. I have been working a lot and I don't have time at night for any of you, sorry :flower3: I have a new respect for working mothers :worship:

The bad news is that the lady I've been subbing for had an aneurysm:sad1: The good news is that I will be covering for her for awhile or maybe forever depending on the situation. I've never met her personally but she will be in my prayers, especially since she has a son in high school still :sad2: The teacher asked for me specifically which makes me feel good. The two have been working together for 15 years so she bursts out in tears during class a lot. It is sad. I cry with her and I don't cry much. The kids seem unaffected which is a little sad to me. They all brought me Valentines cards and candy. This is really sweet considering they are 12-14 years old :scared:

The other great news is that I loooooove this job. I was sad when I left on Tuesday because I thought I wouldn't see these kids or this teacher again. The teacher is so funny and she looks and acts just like Ellen DeGeneres. The kids are great too. I was expecting the worse and got the best. I was warned that a few of them had emotional problems but everyone has been great so far. We made 345 pb&j sandwiches for the hungry the other day so I got to chat with them like I would my own kids. It was great. I like older kids better.

They called me on Wednesday while I was at another school. They called my cell three times and then called the school office. They scared me. I guess they really wanted me to take this job.

Ok all caught up. Now it's time to get moving and working on the living room. We might even be able to eat supper at the table tonight ....

Naaah that might be too much of a shock to the system!!

Oh and Shannon, I want to watch "Passchendaele" tonight (probably best after the kids go to bed).

Well it is nice to see you when you can get here. I was missing you. Really glad you like the job and it sounds like you are a hit with the children.

So sad about the lady having an aneurysm. Sometimes they can operate - you didn't say where it is.

The GPS logger I ordered last weekend had, as of yesterday, not arrived. If I get it this weekend, I hope to experiment with it, my camera and iPhoto.

If I do, I'll email you some screen shots.

:rotfl2:

Nope. The only way you can acquire more points is via exercise.

Oh, and another thing ... you're just a emerging Canadian bigwig.

I do have a question for you about PMs .... Does the PM PM you? Do you PM the PM?

You can only purchase them through sweat and exercise. I'm sure if you could purchase them from someone who didn't use them you'd never buy any because they are more precious than anything in the world ;)

Walmart is a lot cheaper around here. We don't have a super walmart so I still go to the grocery and truthfully I can't remember the last time I went to walmart because I have no time. I usually end up paying way to much for things at the grocery.

I can't get a lot of info out of the teacher without her crying but she did say she was permanently blind so I'm assuming it was her brain. They also said if she recovered from the surgery she would have to be in rehab for months or years to learn everything again.

I miss you too. I did read everything but didn't want to comment on old topics :sad2: It is raining here so we are in for the day, I think. Happy 200th Birthday Abraham Lincoln :upsidedow

We are toying with the idea(yet again!!) of doing the West coast next spring. Hopefully if we do we will get to meet up. We must try for it to be a meet for all the West coast folk.

Raining here too. And I have to go out into it in about an hour to go to my WW meeting. I know I told you last night that I'm really considering throw in the towel. I said the same thing to Bubba this morning and from him I got a "WTH" :rotfl2: I'm just frustrated cause I have increased my exercise and have been pretty good with my food, but the scale just doesn't want to move.:headache:

One of our friends has lost over 30lbs in 5 weeks doing the Cambridge diet. Now, I don't agree with this kind of diet at all, but it has sure got her weight off quickly and she has tried all sorts in the past. She told me yesterday that it was 7lbs loss a week, but it has slowed now.

I remember trying it about 20 or so years ago(:headache: ) but only stuck it for 5 days. I felt terrible and had awful headaches. It did shift a good chunk of weight in that time though. I would never do something like that again as I like to eat a balanced diet even if sometimes it consists of the wrong balances!!:lmao:

That would be great. Maybe Ken and Shannon can come back again too :rolleyes1 And Cheri and Jackie can not have plans this time.

You didn't say it that way :scared1: I didn't know you wanted to throw in the towel. I think you are going to lose a lot of weight soon. Remember Jon didn't lose any for a few weeks and then he lost five. It will happen. Don't give up. I hate to say that you are gaining muscle because I used to hate it when people said that to me but if you really increased a lot that could be it. Maybe you need me to come over again ;) I forgot to weigh in today :sad2: I forgot about boy scouts last night too. I'm confused and need a calender.

When she starts eating again she'll gain it all back. I'm probably not the best person to listen too but you have to do it right or it will come back on. I guess that's why I never lose it to begin with

Oh, I know that, but I think the lure of quick weight loss is too compelling for her.
