Deb - did you make it to the 5 hr mark?

Those who rqsted the DL stuff - hope you were able to open them :-)

Got my passport pics today, so should be sending the form in Thursday (have to figure out how much $ I need to make the check out for first).

Signing off myself now....nite everyone!

Night Monica and everyone else...

Got a hair appt to go to tomorrow so I'll check in around that time...

:wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

back from an emergency trip to the doctors office for Paul. He called me talking very irrationally telling me he had a nose bleed since 10:30 am (2.5 hours of a nose bleed) and he was taking himself to urgent care. He of course didn't know where urgent care was but he was going :sad2:

I called his ENT, got a message into the nurse and convinced Paul to meet me there.

I called his admin (by looking up SONY's # of web since I don't have it and he didn't either) left her a message and then zoomed off to meet him of course calling for child care coverage all the way to the doctor's office from my cell (speaker phone)

Met Paul in the parking lot, he was a mess, both physically and mentally. I think the blood loss really affected his brain, along with the stress of course.

We went into the doctor's office and fortunately she saw him right away and cauterized his bleed. He is now packed and resting for the balance of the day. Off any heavy lifting for the week. His BP was up 30 points for him, very high. (for the rest of us, normal, I think he is the walking dead with his normal pressure)

While at the doctor's office I found out that he had been sitting in his car from 10:30am until he called me @ 12:30pm with the nose bleed. He never made it into the office. His car is a mess (yuck) We did have a good laugh about the fact that if he waited a little longer he could have bled out and I could tell everyone my husband died from a nose bleed. Bad sense of humor, I know. We were trying to keep his mind off of the issue. When Paul was in college he had surgery for a deviated spetum, he had a bad result which landed him in the hospital for 3 days due to uncontrolled bleeding. The result of that bleed was a bad packing job that created a hole between his nose. He has a great fear of stuff being put in his nose based on this terrible experience. :sad2:

So, that's my day so far.

Off soon to get the kids at school and home to make dinner and call it done.

Ian, your day sounds better than mine at this point.

So sorry to hear this news Nan....it was a rough day for you both today. Hope Paul gets better soon and you take care too.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

It just a fear of the unknown. My previous role, while stressful was a core function, my new one better leverages my skills and experience but is far from a vital role.

Ian I'm wishing for you that your transition is an easy one and that you find your new role much more rewarding and less stressful. Remember that your skills are an asset to your company and it sounds like they want to utilize them to their benefit. Have fun creating your new niche.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

this is at our friend's Bee Keeping company.....VERY unusual to have that much snow! They will be glad to be here in a couple weeks!

Also, if you are a DVC member, the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont is on our list of resorts in the USA.....Chuck and I have considered going there someday.

Also, I just booked a 7 day cruise for March 7! We canceled the March 28th one. Now I just have to find some cast members to work for me!

I was sick all day today.....I don't want to get too much into it.....very bad stomach pains and bowel discomfort, then huge body aches all over. Must have been the flu. I hope I am better tomorrow! I've been miserable all day. :sad1:

WOOOHOOOO....you better start packing.....hope you feel up to doing it soon.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Okay, I misssed a couple days and it took me an hour to get caught up. Love all the pictures everybody has been posting! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Lisa - glad to hear Gretchen is bouncing back quickly

Nan - hope Paul feels better soon. Then you can smack him for waiting so long to call you! ;)

Monica - :grouphug: hugs & picie dust for your parents

Ian - how's Sukie's hip doing? Did he recuperate from hitting the car?

Holly - You sounded so disappointed to hear about his school problems, but he is doing better, and making steady progress. Be proud of him and yourself!:grouphug:

Michelle - You win the home reno offer - I'd definitely rather come watch contractors work than actually do work ;)

Marilyn - is the snow melting away already? Have you had enough winter now?

Oh please, Tallulah is going to LOVE me. All animals love me. The birds fly down from the trees and sit on my shoulder and seranade me. The butterflies land on my fingers like pieces of colorful jewelry.

.

This made me :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I think the heat is getting to you. You're starting to have delusions that you're Snow White.

And so did this :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

.

Those are Jetsons pants.

She made the Grad dress. She bought (yes paid good money) for the Jetsons sweats.

Good morning dear friends - hope everyone is staying warm (or cool as the case may be) and that those of you w/ illnesses are getting better :goodvibes

Not sure if I told you guys this or not but my dad is finally starting treatment for the prostate cancer. He's doing the radiation that will be done every day M-F for 2 months. He's already been permanently tatooed (for the lining up of the equipment) and is going in tomorrow to find out when he actually starts w/ the treatment (I think he's hoping for next week). He has decided that he wants to try to go on the Baltic cruise w/ me as 2 friends bailed on me. I'm ok w/ going alone, and have told him that I don't want him to rush anything & that his health is his nbr 1 priority...but he's interested in where the cruise goes & can't really see himself doing this cruise for the amount of $ it cost so he wants to try to go.

Prayers for him & Mom would be appreciated :grouphug:

Another update .... I'm down 13 lbs for the year WHOOP WHOOP!!! :cool1: :cheer2: Really happy about that :goodvibes now just need to keep it goint :thumbsup2 Thanks to all of you for your continued support (anybody else get a flashback of Jack & Elwood from California Coolers :rotfl: ?)

Hi All....a progress update....I managed 4 1/2 hrs yesterday and I'm working on 5 today. So far, 2 down and 3 to go. Time moves very slowly when you're just watching the clock. I wish I could fall asleep but it doesn't happen because I'm so uncomfortable. The good news is that it seems to be working. The swelling is going down a little and the color is looking more natural. The leaking is still going on but it's a little less. I started my antibiotics so I'm on my way. Thanks so much for all your words of encouragement. It helps a lot.

Deb - have you increased to 6hrs a day lying down yet? Does listening to music or books on tape, make the time go by faster.

Now I'm off to do a bit more election finance work. I gave up last night at 2am and went to bed. Had to drink some diet coke to get through all the meetings today. 4 hours of sleep is not enough to go and sit in meetings all afternoon.

Deb - did you make it to the 5 hr mark?

Yes I did....thank you so much for your concern.....more tomorrow until we get them back to normal looking.

That's actually a good idea Shannon. Thanks. I'll have to try it. I did 5 hrs today and will be doing 5 1/2 tomorrow. We're coming up on 6 soon.

Oh my gosh, that is scary. What caused the nosebleed? Is he OK?

just the way his nose is made and nasal sprays aren't helping either, but he needs then because he has terrible allergies.

He is ok, some pain tonight, I made him an ice bag. He can't take any pain killers :sad2:

Hey .... this is the first year in 15 years I have not had to buy those boxed valentines!! What a Big Bonus!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I'm glad to buy them for another year or so for Willie. Last year he made paper airplanes for everyone but he said it was too hard and he isn't doing it again :lmao:

So sorry to hear this news Nan....it was a rough day for you both today. Hope Paul gets better soon and you take care too.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

thanks and I might do that, but really I feel bad for him being so scared of having his nose packed again. it really must have been bad for him to never want to see the doctor like that again.:sad2:

Monica I loved your pics. Bob's Big Boy, yum....

Oh my Nan, poor Paul and you.:grouphug: He must really have NOT wanted to go to the doctor's. I hope he isn't in too much pain.

Soprry you weren't well yesterday - hope you are ok today.

Great news on the cruise - not as long to wait now.:lmao:

When we bought DVC it was the option of using the points elsewhere which swayed John. Reality is that is not a good use of points for us, and actually John wants to use them at Disney now anyway!!!:rotfl2:

I'm not sure where I left off, has anything exciting been happening. I think I saw all of the pictures because I scanned without reading :faint: I promise to do better. I know Marilyn is a head of me now ;)

Perhaps I was for one moment in time there!!:rotfl2:

All that scanning of pictures made me go a bit wild tonight :rotfl2: Ready??

Here's a 60's baby with her sister...
