Ian, are you in trouble for forgetting Nan?:scared1: At least it is Monday and no slapping on a Monday.

I sent out another update yesterday, so she should be quiet (if that's even ever possible.)

I hope the A4 worked out for you.

Good Morning All!

I spent most of the afternoon and evening yesterday snoozing in bed. I am off to work shortly.

After our balmy week in the 30's, we are back into the teens. This morning it is 4F, but is supposed to warm up to about 17F..

You know, quite frankly, I don't like the concept of PTO time. I much preferred it when we had sick time and vacation time. It's my opinion that more people are coming into work sick now and in turn getting everyone else sick.

I totally agree :thumbsup2 )from someone who only gets "vacation" time - Luckily I work a flex schedule of only 72 hours per 2 weeks so I can move my time around when ill.

A4 was fine thanks. I never knew you worked in different sizes over there.

Hello everyone. I had a great weekend and now I'm back to my old self. I'm not caught up at all and I have to work an entire day today :faint: I'm a little nervous since the job isn't at my school and I've never worked this position before. It is the highest paying one though which is the nurse. Hopefully it works out.

I read that if you are trying to get the cold to go away you need to go out on February 20 at high noon and yell "Hoodie-Hoo" at the sky and try to scare away the cold. I figured if we all did it together we would all look like idiots so it would be alright. It's up to you since it is in the 60's here.

I have no time to catch but I wanted to tell you not to believe any rumors that you heard about this weekend. I would demand proof before you believe anything :lmao: I just sat around the whole time reading a book :flower3:

Yep, North America, Central America (I'm not sure about South America) and the Philippines (I'm not sure about Japan) use Letter Size, which is 8.5 inches by 11 inches.

Europe and parts of Asia uses A4 which is a DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung) standard.

I know this from my many years of working overseas in Europe and Asia and the need to produce travel documentation formatted for the different standards.

It occurred to me, while waiting for the bus this morning in the 4F temperature that we, in the Midwest, are due for a winter thaw. It normally comes in February every year when it can get up into the '50's.

Given the amount of snow and ice that has accumulated, a rapid thaw is going to cause a mess.

The thaw only lasts a week and then the temperature plummets again.

Gay - hope you have a safe & easy drive done to see V & Bubba today. PLease give the bday girl and her hubby a hug for me (then tell V to hug you for me too :goodvibes )

I gave Venetia plenty of hugs and Bubba a couple but he told me that he didn't like my hugs because they were wimpy

The activity points and weekly points are there for you to use, so I would recommend using them, if you have them.

I love carbs and have never cut them out, but my choices are very different, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, etc.

We have recently gotten into steel cut oatmeal. It's the kind that takes 30 minutes to cook. I make a big batch and keep it in the fridge. Then I add sweetener, flavoring, and a little water and heat it up in the microwave. A cup is only 2 points. I find it very satisfying and the steel cut oatmeal has a very different texture from regular oats and also a slightly nutty flavor.

I would bring all these things up in your weekly meeting.

Thanks for the advice. I need to look into that oatmeal since I love oatmeal. I think the reason we were cutting out carbs was because we would have a meat or chicken and veggies and a salad and there wasn't enough points for the potato or rice or pasta. Jon probably had room but didn't need it. He gets a lot of points. Plus I'm trying something new this time and I'm actually trying to get in the olive oil and milk. I love milk and would give it up while I was on WW because I didn't want to drink anything with points. I know I can't do that now.

I want(ed) to see the movie, which was great and also to see my friend. We get together every once in a blue moon. It was nice. And sadly I drove. I was fine, just had 1/2 of my lightweight drink, remember I'm a fan of the waterey DODs

Can't wait to hear about your get together, Gaylean&clan and Bubba/V. Hope you are having the best time ever :thumbsup2

And Wilson loved the Mii, from your house Gaylean, a nijia and a shark :wave2:

I thought you didn't like the DODs.

I told you not to believe everything you hear

I'm glad you liked the Miis....I'm sure there are more to come ;)

Well...you're not going to believe the night I've had...

I ended up going to the Dr. to find out I had an infection (female problems... sorry bubba...) had to run all over to get my Rx's and then stop at the store, got home and mom was fixing dinner - I took my meds and we ate and I came back upstairs because MY meds were starting to kick in and I wanted to lay low until the effects passed... all of a sudden I hear my mom SCREAM from downstairs.. I dropped everything and ran - it seems the dizzy spells came back but this time they were accompanied by a flush of heat - she even turned bright red. I found her holding on to the sink in the kitchen almost fainting... she got sick, then broke out in a sweat and fell to the floor just as I caught her. In a couple of minutes she was ok - still shakey...but ok. I got her up and rested on the couch... and everything calmed down. I guess the problems with her ears are back. I am calling the Dr. in the AM...

I told her that I'm getting her a personalized life alert thingy if this keeps up... :sad2:

Oh geez. Not good. Here's hoping everything works out!

Good morning everyone.

Or should I say good frosty morning to everyone. Woke up this morning to the radio telling us it is -31C/-23F this morning. That's good if you are a snowman

but I am not!

Also, with that weather we discovered the water pipes to the washing machine are frozen.

And of course it makes it difficult to run outside and use the table saw to cut the laminate floor boards down that we need in our living room! So that is getting pushed aside right now. So right now we have this lovely linoleum in our hallway and down our staircase.

So today I get to unfreeze water pipers, rip up some more underlay, and do take the garbage carpet pieces to the dump. Yeah! A dump run in -31C weather!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

-31C???:scared1: I remember having -13C overnight some 20 years ago and that was bad. How do the little ones cope?

Wear warm clothes and then walk to school. Yes our schools are still open.

In fact Kaleigh wanted to wear a skirt to daycare today (with leggings underneath of course!).

Looks like it is going to warm up enough to get us some snow. Oh yeah! :sad2:

I just registered everyone that Ian had on the Wii list on our machine.

Thnx Ian for compiling that list!

Woohoo It has warmed up here! It is now -23C(-9F).

Gaylean if you think you are cold there at 53F - subtract another 60 degrees! ;) Are you still wearing shorts? Seems like good temp to go and ride Splash Mountain!

Ken - wow about the weather - brrrrrrzzzzzz

I wonder about my brother in law as he is in Canada... brrrrzzz for him :cool1:
