I'm warning everyone that wants my Wii number that Ethan and Brooke send Miis to Bubba and Venetia all the time. I saw Brooke do it today and she didn't even know she was doing it. Ethan probably knows he is doing it but thinks it is funny.

No, they've already replaced her. They hired her replacement over a week ago, and all of us were wondering who was going to be the one to go because that made 6 secretaries for only 5 cubicles, so we knew she was hired to replace somebody, just didn't know who until the day she was let go.

So how could they tell her that they didn't have enough work for her? This just sounds wrong on every level.

Yes, as long as you don't get fired for something that's your own fault.

So how could they tell her that they didn't have enough work for her? This just sounds wrong on every level.

It IS wrong. That's just the kind of place I work for. I ONLY stick around because of the flexibility they've always given me. I put up with their unethical ways because I need that flexibility. And that's partially why I have Friday night get-togethers with my co-workers and former co-workers. Us current employees get to vent, and the former co-workers always want to hear the latest chaos stories.

And I sort of like stirring the pot. So I told the girl who was just let go that they're interviewing to hire somebody. And about a year ago, when the office manager told me they were going to fire the only female attorney in a couple hours, I TOLD HER, so she would have time to compose herself so she wouldn't bust out crying. The other attorneys were surprised at how well she handled the news. She later told me she appreciated me telling her because it gave her time to think of some not so nice final parting words.

the only reason in CA to not get unemployment is if you are fired with cause. Drinking on the job is cause. I've had to fight a claim for a client on that level before.

It really is better than firing her over the drinking, as she might not get to claim the unemployment that way.

Well I'm glad you have people to vent with. I hated my old boss when I worked full time. She was mean to me and made me cry regularly. So I gave my two week notice and she freaked out. She told me she couldn't live without me. She was weird. She was mean to everyone but I hated it the most.

You're thinking of two different people. One needs to be fired because she is smelly and drunk and the other got fired because "they didn't have enough work" and she just happens to be pregnant. Now they are hiring someone else.
