I'd love to stay and chat but I'm tired tonight.

See ya tomorrow thieves.

Go to bed Michelle :flower3:

Hi Marilyn and Deborah :wave2:

Yes Maam....

Shots of the get together today have to wait till tomorrow night. Had a great time at Kim and Jerrys. Even won some money! So did V. So did Gay!:thumbsup2

So... what are you buying V???

Yeah last I looked a few hours ago we go we had received about 18-20 inches of snow today. It was really coming down. No idea where we are at now.

It was really powdery this morning, but later this evening it must hve warmed up a bit as it was sticky.

Took my buddy home after the game and came across an accident scene where a van had gotten t-boned by a SUV. The van was pushed into a light post and the guy wasn't sure if the back axle was broken or not. Funny part is that neither vehicle looked like it had been hit that hard. I initially thought the van had simply skidded up onto the median and just needed a push until the driver told me what happened.

I think the girls and I are going to just stay home tomorrow and clean the house. MAYBE we'll go out and shovel the driveway....

Maybe??? What's this Maybe???

Marilyn,

Just passing through.

It's all your fault, you and your talk of the first signs of Spring. Now we have 12" of snow in balmy Surrey this morning and still falling.

You know perfectly well if more than 6 snowflakes fall in 24hrs down here we close down.

By the way we have booked Alaska cruise + Rocky Mountaineer rail trip in July for 40th. Still hope for WDW in October and haven't cancelled Baltic 2010 yet.

Albert

Hi Albert!!!

I still have our picture from Acapulco if you'd like it...

What cruise are you taking and which cruise line???

Hello to Anne!!! :goodvibes

I will have to stop copying all the photos or it will block the Dis!!!:lmao:

Thanks for letting me know that. I just checked. No photo, just a silhouette. I like your idea to just ignore such requests.

I suppose I might feel differently had I not been dumped as friend.

It is a whole new world of information, isn't it? I still struggle with the whole notion, and that really bothers me, because I feel like I'm getting too old to grasp a new concept.

I have quite a few friends who I know and love who still don't have a photo up. I don't think it necessarily mens they are strange or secretive or worse.

Here I am in 1970, my High School Senior portrait.

Lovely.

What is it with that L top corner(R to the one being photographed)? do they put a tasty young man up there to get the simles?:rotfl:

OK, I'm too lazy to get my yearbook and scan a photo. As a bigger shock, I suppose I could have scanned a photo with my last girlfriend in 1972.

But, here is a picture of me in June 1974, a year after I graduated high school:

And here's one you've seen before from about 1975-ish:

And finally, Sukie, 21 years ago!

Great photos Ian.

Marilyn - when are you guys coming in May ---- we can meet up, it would have to be in a resort restaurant though, our passes expire after ESPN the weekend and I don't think we are going to renew any time soon.

We are there from April 29th till June 8th, but have family with us from May 20th.

if we didn't do the repo, I started looking into adventures by disney - great places but WOW on the prices!! not including airfare! Kind of shied me away.

DH wants to train across Canada, wants to do the whole Grand Canyon/Tombstone thing, other than that, I plan, he goes.

I think Canada we could do soon, I would wait on the gC until the girls can ride and control their own mule, like age 30?

We love the Grand Canyon and Arizona in general. I hope we can visit again before we stop flying over there.

Do we look younger here

item

Very young. How long had you known each other for then>

I hesitate because I called the hspital and there is a 6 hour wait right now...must be a lot of sickness.....I HATE the ER. I can get her in the doctor at 8:30 tomorrow morning.

She has stopped shivering and her fever is now 101.....She has pepped up a little now too.

I hope she has a good night and feels better this morning.

Well, I'm on my second very deserved glass of wine and then I'm going to bed! I've had this nasty cold all week. Wed and Thurs I was really full of cold, had to shovel snow and work both days. Doesn't seem fair to have to endure all three things in one day  I had plans to take my granddaughter for a sleep over last night and then have her mom over today for dinner and was afraid that her mom wouldn't want me to take her when I had this cold, but turns out Serenity already had a cold and her mom was not giving up her night "off duty" So, I was pretty tired last night, I was up at 5:30 AM for work, but I was quite happy to go and pick up Serenity princess: She has always been so easy to look after, she just doesn't get into things she shouldn't! She is 16 months old now. Well.....from the moment we walked through my door she was into everything! Every cupboard, every drawer, every shelf!! Thank heavens she slept all night so I could recuperate somewhat:crazy2: She really is a good little soul...but busy!!! I guess her mom really did enjoy her "time off", she didn't call us until noon, then said she'd be over at 3:00. Then she called at 2:00 to say she wouldn't be coming for the roast beef dinner that she had requested  She said she'd come pick up the baby at 6:00. Then I called her at 7:00!!! She asked if I could bring her home to her. So I took her home at 8:00. I absolutely loved my time with my granddaughter...but I am exhausted!! It will be a rest to go to work tomorrow ;) And I'm afraid I won't be getting caught up here.

Kathe

Poor you. It is exhausting, and you are being put upon!!! Not fair when you aren't feeling good.

And how about the pictures of my babies

item

Don't cry. It is a lovely photo. Don't get broody either.

Not from that long ago (~12 years) but it seems like another lifetime

since I know this scanning from my office works easy I'll dig out more tomorrow...;)

That is lovely and you look beautiful. The dress looks gorgeous.

my favorite picture of Miss Molly. She was 3 years 3 months old. This is her 1st school picture princess:

Still not great of my dress, I'll go look in our album and see if I can find one that shows the whole dress no flowers (they were hiding little miss molly ya know ;) all 3 weeks of her :rotfl2:

The dress if lovely Nan. Do you still have it?

Oh, I think the country has closed down!!:confused3 John is supposed to fly to Amsterdam at 6pm, but it is looking doubtful. Trouble is you just don't know what to do. The airport is making an annoncememt shortly. At the moment all flights are grounded.

Hello to Anne!!! :goodvibes

Hi Michelle!

We are cruising with HAL on 22 July from Vancouver, will be on the cruise for our 40th anniversary.
Our back yard looks like yours this morning, I think the last time we had this much snow was 1987!

Ann

Where is John flying from? Both runways at Heathrow are currently closed.
Ann

Hopefully from Leeds Bradford. Only one plane has landed today so far, but though delayed, some are getting away soon and a few are cancelled. I think those cancelled haven't arrived from elsewhere. He is due to fly at 5.55, so it could go either way as we are due heavier snow throughout the day. Also you just don't know where the plane you are due to catch is coming from, and therefore whether it will be cancelled or not.

It isn't imperative he actually goes, but will be a bit of a disappoinment.

Kathe,

I hope you're feeling better. A bit milder weather is coming this week. It's going to be in the mid to upper 20's here this week and by Thursday, it's supposed to get up to 43F! So, hopefully some of that will float your way.

who is going to see Star Trek on opening day????

May 8th

Willie and I are going to cut school...shhhhhhh don't tell ;)

I'd love to see it, but Sukie hates Star Trek. I'd have to go on my own. :sad2:

Could it really be February already?

Another work week. This week is going to be focused on transitioning my current responsibilities.

I also received an email on Friday from the CIO that he wants me to set up a meeting with him and his directors to present how I am going to achieve, my "vision." I don't think I can get away with the notion of eating more carrots to achieve the vision.

The odd thing about my new role is that I have 2 areas of responsibility that do not go together and have absolutely no synergy.

The weather has turned milder, it is going to be in the mid to upper 20's this week, and we are going to get into the 40's by Thursday!

OK, whoever gave Tyler the pirate photo album and the pirate Disney dollars, he finally decided what he wants to do. He has put the dollars in the album just like pictures, and he's asked me to print a bunch of pirate pictures of him, from way back when he first started dressing up like a pirate (when he was 3), and pics of when he and I play pirates here at home, and pics of pirate night from the cruise, and he wants to make his own pirate album. :thumbsup2 I told him I'd try to do that this week. I love how creative kids are. :goodvibes

Sounds like a great idea :thumbsup2

Well we have had about 3" of snow so far. Up here in the north it is on and off, but down southe they have had much more and have more problems. We went out for a walk, and it must be 15 or more years since I have walked in snow that deep.:lmao:

At the moment it looks like the flights are going from the airport, but I have been trawling around, and the flight due to arrive for John to take to Amsterdam hasn't left here on it's outbound journwy and is 2 hours late. so it is looking at the moment that there will be at least a 2 hour delay for him. He is goling to wait till 2pm and see how things are.

We are due to get more and heavier snow yet too. That would be wonderful if we had nowhere to go!

I know that snow is always a problem over there, because it doesn't happen very often and the counsels just do not have the equipment to remove or salt (when I was there they spread sand which as anyone in a snow belt will tell you is utterly useless).

Just stay safe and warm and I hope John gets out on his flight.

By the way, if you ever want to be a snow bunny, come and visit us in Chicago in the winter.

 Ann & Albert!

Goodmorning my friends. Hope everyone is feeling better today (even those of you who weren't feeling all that bad yesterday)! :lmao:

I would love to visit in the depths of snowy winter. In fact I would love to spend Christmas over there in the snow somewhere, perhaps a quaint wooden hotel somewhere, with Christmas trees and garlands, log fires and all the American ways of doing things. Or is this only in films?

I've always wanted to do a family Christmas vacation in Vermont....just what you described here. Though, it wouldn't be all that different from the Christmases I DID have in NW Indiana! :lmao: Just like it to be in a LODGE as opposed to the tiny house we grew up in. Hmmmmmm....a lodge not unlike WILDNERNESS lodge at WDW. Ian, can we pretend on day when we are there that it is snowing outside?

When we were at the Grand Californian at DL in May, we sat in the nook on rocking chairs. I'm sure the fire was lit!! We listened to one of the storytellers tell a story too. All we needed was the Christmas tree and some mulled wine and we could have imagined we were in a Christmassy Vermont!
