Wasn't that just a beautiful day in Cabo? I think I took the most pictures there. I'd definately go back there for a vacation. :thumbsup2

time to head out.......
later kids!

.

I agree - it was the only port we had a great time in (other than CC).

Yes Lisa, I am hunting, but things are really not good in this area. I found two positions that I thought were right up my alley . . . one I applied for over a month ago - no response, the other I sent a resume last weekend - nothing from them yet either.

In the meantime, more negative things happened after my return. I hesitate to discuss them here. Let's just say just when you thought things could get no worse, you get a nasty surprise.

John, this doesn't sound good.:confused3 Hope all is ok, Lisa

So now you don't have to go meet everyone on the Sept thread because it is all the same people you are talking to now ;)

Well, there are a few others.....

They had the thread started and we have rather taken over since we have the advantage of knowing each other already--at least from the DIS.

Well, when I was in labor with Ethan I screamed "This should be illegal". I told my mom, that had four kids, "You don't know what this feels like, if you did, you would have warned me not to have kids". It doesn't help when you have a nine pound baby in between your legs and they tell you not to push until the doctor comes. My mom was shocked because she thought I had a high pain tolerance.

You probably do have a high pain tolerance. That is not the issue.

The part I highlighted makes me SO MAD!!

Your body was doing what it was made to do. The fact that the MD could not get his act together should not had an impact on your delivery.

If you could have delivered him at your own pace, in a calm quiet place, with you telling people what you wanted  instead of them telling you what to do, you might have a whole different perspective on this. It would have been a whole different event.

You got a good kid though!:cool1:

now you all know one of my soapboxes

Jan :earsgirl:

When I got to the hospital I was too far along for an epidural. With Brooke I was worried about the same thing so they gave it to me early and it wore off and the doctor that administers that (I can't spell it) was doing a c section and couldn't come and give me more drugs. It was alright with her because I had a really good nurse. When I told her I needed to push she stretched me so I was dilated to 10 instead of telling me to wait for the doctor. I guess it is customary to push the baby almost out and then call the doctor but my babies come out with a push or two so after he was out she told me she was going to get the doctor and not to push. I pushed anyway. So I had third degree lacerations and had to be stitched for three hours. Now that hurt with no epidural :scared1:

If you had a good nurse who stayed with you for Ethan and you were encouraged to push at your own pace and not to go too fast you may not have had the lacerations either. They left you instead of supporting you:hug: You did what you thought you had to do and with a good nurse you might have been able to go slower and stretch slowly instead of fast which is what causes the tearing.

I am getting a headache :headache: and am ready to go YELL  at that staff already!

How many miles away is it? Michelle, do you think they can hear me from here with the Rocky Mountains in the way?

Jan :earsgirl:

Just so I make Jan happy... :flower3: Here's what I posted on the DCL pic of the day...

Hmmm . . . maybe I need to do that to be off work for awhile . . . so I am not the only one who came back to more stress than I left . . .

Hey . . . anyone get a new iPhone?

I just ordered one for Alex and Amy today (ATT store is sold out). I will keep suffering (ha ha) with my work Blackberry.

I got one John...all that mac talk from you and another disser convinced me...oh and the GPS...I didn't even have to wait in line. Showed up sat. morning and got it. Perfect. So far it's confusing me but I like it. Just have a rule in california that you must be handsfree while driving and I keep forgetting the bluetooth is on when I'm home. oops@!

Glad to hear all is getting better with your family. Hope GE is treating amy well.

Steph

That is exactly what she's going to do! We went to the Good Samaritan Village today and had a tour, and she was very impressed by it. I don't know why she was so negative about it a couple years ago.....I suppose it was a totally different situation...her health was much better.

Anyhoo.....they have these guest apartments which they rent for up to 3months at a time, also nightly. While we are on our cruise next week, she's going to stay in one to see how she likes the place. She met a few very nice people over there today. It's only 10 miles from my house!

There's an indoor pool, and outdoor pool, a golf course, shuffleboard courts, a huge community hall with a stage and a game room for cards and stuff. They have their own TV station. They have doctors and podiatrists come to the medical facilitly every week, so you don't even have to go to the dr. They a have a bus that takes people shopping etc.
Also there's a new Publix right next door and you can frive your golf cart right up to the store through the special gate!

Oh, my, I think I'LL move there! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Connie: it sounds lovely!! :cool1: I could get a unit next to yours!

I wonder if my Mom was so opposed because she remembered what nursing homes were 50 years ago when it was a stigma to put your family member in a "home" because you should care for them yourself.

But Baby boomers do not want to stay in bad places, and the science of gerontology is a real thing so we know what helps keep people younger and what support they need. So we make sure they have what we will want.

Jan :earsgirl:

well, it's midnight and I have a computer class for work tomorrow at 9am....we are all getting computers to check people in with.......I am really looking forward to it, but a few of my fellow cast members are NOT! Some are just a little adverse to change....especially if they have been doing the same thing for 10 years! :surfweb:

Does everybody know that next week is DCL's 10th anniversary? my freinds, Faith and Pete are going on the Magic in CA because they were on the very first cruise.

That's pretty neat!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DCL

Let us know if there is any special celebratory events or items!!

Doesn't he look like a crazy professor???

Our VacationBibleSchool was Power Lab. My sister had the 5th graders (which was Molly's class) and this was her set up...too cute huh?

Cool photo. Better than the Crazy Professor who tried to teach us how to make Flubber and ours was a flop......

I would love to see that program--is there a website about the curriculum?

I don't think anyone came back to less stress than they left. We all seem to have something. You are in good company. Don't know why stuff does not get done when we are not there.

UPDATE...

The second attack was an infection... I'm on Cipro... feel like kicking :cool1: all the bad germs out this time.

&&&&&&&&&

I'm finally catching up on all the stuff on my DVR from the cruise... :rotfl2:

Lets hope those meds work super quick for you.

Hi guys!

Hope everyone is well, happy, and enjoying life.

I have not been here for quite a while due to life and work.

My brother continues a slow recovery, but he is starting to take his first steps again, just like a baby. Dad seems to be slipping more, but I still stop by daily, and got him signed up for "meals on wheels". I have finished the remodeling of their house, so now everything is on the first floor - hopefully Manuel will be home later this month, or early next.

We did not go on our vacation to the beach for a variety of reasons this year, including dad and brother. That was hard for us.

I miss talking here a lot, and really wish I had more time. While we do have a dummy date, we do not really have another cruise planned.

I don't know why, but I keep having this strange nightmare where I am wearing pink . . . strange . . .

John I've been thinking about you all and hoping your would post again. It is certainly slow for Manuel, but considering where he is coming back from it is indeed wonderful news to hear he is progressing.

When my MIL was back in her sheltered accommodation(she is in a care home now) she used to be more awkward. She used to say she liked being awkward and enjoyed telling us the things she had said. sometimes she was quite rude to people. It was a revelation to me that some older folk actually know how they are behaving.

Hmmm . . . maybe I need to do that to be off work for awhile . . . so I am not the only one who came back to more stress than I left . . .

Our son got one last Friday. John has just upgraded his old one as he says he doesn't really need one. There have been quite a few problems over here with the whole system.

Yes Lisa, I am hunting, but things are really not good in this area. I found two positions that I thought were right up my alley . . . one I applied for over a month ago - no response, the other I sent a resume last weekend - nothing from them yet either.

I'm sorry you have all these problems. One is bad enough but you seem to have loads dropped on you at the moment. Hoping and praying for better things for you.

Did anyone say that Cheri designed the logo for the Tortola cruise? Our NOTSOLITTLEMERMAID Cheri! Yup:cool1:

Jan :earsgirl:

I think Cherie posted the picture and a guy on the thread did the wording.

Originally I think Deb's Grumpy John found the picture for our May cruise as I had 2 on my door. It is a fab picture, I just love it, so thanks Cherie for posting it.
