way to see what is available online?

While playing around one day, I came across a website where you could plug in a time range and possibly select a general area (like EPCOT), and it populated what reservations were available.

I didn't pay close attention, but thought it was a Disney Dining website. Now I can find anything like it.

Any ideas?

The Disney Dining site (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/reservations/dining/)does allow for general areas (or all of Disney). There are also general meal times, but I believe those relate to a specific time inside the system and not a "whenever that meal is offered" (as that could be tricky due to different restaurants having different schedules).

Now, the timeframe it searches on is about 2 hours on either side of your selection, so it's a sizable window. So, for example, if you entered 1PM as your search time, it would search 11am to 3pm, giving priority to those closest to 1pm. (So, in this case if there were 5 ADRs available, 11:15am, 12:45pm, 1pm, 1:45pm, and 2:30pm, it would display the middle 3)

As far as some third party thing, I simply don't know. But I'd doubt they'd open up that part of their system to a 3rd party, as it's likely a pretty resource hungry part of the site.

Now, they USED to have date ranges you could search for, but they removed that when they updated to the current version (and that date range was when you had to search per restaurant, instead of the current overall searches)

thanks!

That was it. I was confused because I initially had to select a specific time (say 7:00p.m.), but when it searches, it searched for all openings between 5:00 and 9:00 (two hours on each end).

And to think I was looking at it this entire time, but couldn't figure out how to get it to show what I was wanting to see :)

bumping this thread with a question...

I went to the Disney dining site, just to see how it works. I chose Epcot and a date next week, 6 PM, party of 2...but when I clicked to show me what was available...I got a big fat nothing. I tried a different date and park too, just in case it was that specific time that wasn't available at all. Same result.

What am I doing wrong? (sorry if this is a stupid question)

Maybe nothing is available? Reservations for next week and for a party of only 2 might be really tough.

I just went to the site and looked up next Monday and Epcot for dinner and found 10 restaurants with availability. When you go to the time menu, instead of choosing a time, go to the very top and choose dinner...see if that helps!

thanks, guys :) I don't know what was going on last night, but I tried a few options this morning and the restaurants popped right up. I can not wait to make my ADRs! Good thing is (and I didn't even plan it that way) the day I can make my ADRs we just happen to be on vacation, so I will not even have to worry with getting ready for work. I can wake up and sit on the couch in my pjs and obsess. And we'll be at my MIL's house in TN. She'll probably be cracking up at me.
