Any suggestions for ways to pamper my mom at WDW? She's been working a lot of 60+ hour work weeks (she's not an hourly employee), and her dad has appendicitis with a side of tachycardia (almost had 4th heart attack while waiting for the exam to diagnose the appendicitis) with her mom who can't remember her son/my uncle anymore to look after while he's in the hospital (she wanders), so my mom gets just enough time to herself to shower. She's getting surprised with a spa treatment and afternoon tea. Any other suggestions? Can include ideas for the car ride.

Also, any suggestions for ways to spoil my husband, who is staying home?

It depends on what she is into:
sports: golf, mini-golf, fishing, marathon, bowling, ESPN Club, WWS/ESPN Zone, etc
shopping: DTD, area outlet malls, large scale malls
drinking: Jellyrolls, Raglan Road, monorail tour of resorts, walking tour of resorts in the Boardwalk area
Movies: DTD 24 screen theater some with meals served by waiters
night clubbing: Jellyrolls, Atlantic Dance, Raglan Road, Citywalk
resort tours: monorail tour of resorts, Boardwalk around the lake tour of resorts, horse drawn tour of FWC, AKL/AKV
offsite: Gaylord Palms Resort, Citywalk, swamp tour
eating: Formal GF 5* Chef's Table @ V&As

My DH was really stressed and tired when we took one of our trips. And he is not really a Disney fan (I know, grounds for divorce!). I booked a massage in our room at the Contemporary for him and he enjoyed it. He would never get one on his own!

I also offered him many restaurant choices and made sure we ate at those, some even twice that week. I let him sleep in some mornings while DS and I hit a park and he then met us for lunch.

What are her hobbies even if she hasn't had time lately to enjoy them? Maybe a new compact camera for picture taking or a tour such as Keys to the Kingdom.

Your ideas sound wonderful and I'd bet that anything you do for her, even just spending time with her will be greatly appreciated.

I was going to suggest tea at GF so you have that one covered. It sounds like just getting away for awhile might be pampering enough. I wouldn't over book ADRs and rides and just take it slow. She will probably appreciate all the details and little things around the world.

Her main hobby is... people. If she's not spending time with family/friends, she's making things for them (sewn or cross-stitched, and she has said she does not want any new craft projects), or gardening. She also exercises a lot, but I figure the amount of walking we'll be doing will be enough - though she is excited about her new swimsuit, so we'll also be swimming some too. She's diabetic and a t-totaler, so a lot of options are limited in that regard, plus my kids will be with us. Loves to dive and kimall are probably right.

What about the Behind The Seeds tour in Epcot's Land attraction as you stated she likes gardening. The tour states it is $20.00.

See, Do, Learn, Grow!
Visit 4 greenhouses and a fish farm to see amazing plants, insects and fish—and even alligators!

Like the Living with the Land attraction at Epcot? Then you’ll love Behind the Seeds! This one-hour tour of the fish farm and 4 greenhouses that make up The Land Pavilion is perfect for anyone with an interest in gardening or natural sciences. On it, you’ll:
  • Visit the fish farm during feeding time and see American alligators.
  • Release ladybugs into the greenhouse to help protect the plants. Activity subject to availability.
  • Behold gigantic fruits and vegetables and unusual crops from around the world.
  • Discover the latest plant-growing techniques, including hydroponics—look, Ma, no soil!
  • Take home a handout with some great ideas for your own garden.

I think the Lunch with an Imagineer would be ideal. I really like the Hollywood Derby one in HS.

Any Disney tour would be great. Some offer a behind the scenes look like seeing the Utilodors in MK.

If you have extra money a fireworks cruise is always special.

Do a dessert party for MK or Epcot fireworks.

I second the massage idea if she's open to it. DH would never get one for himself, until I surprised him with one and he loved it! (My sister is the type of person who would NEVER like that kind of thing though... so it's definitely personality based.)
