Way Early Roll Call For March 4, 2006 Eastern.........

Hello to all new & old. Just as I thought our summer has gone way too fast. We really had a beautiful summer this year. So wonderful we bought a new boat. Just got it so hope to get some use in this fall. Problem is my girls are very busy with sports & such. So I'm going to be happy to get this long weekend in & look forward to the cruise.
I will be looking forward to meeting everyone & getting to know each other before the cruise. We met some wonderful people on our last cruise.
El Capitan--we book on our last cruise & reqested early seating. I think I read where they are stagering the dinning times. I really need to get looking into this stuff. We have our air all paid for. Now I need to start thinking about excursions & such.

Everyone enjoy the last summer holiday

Wendy

Hello! My family and I DH, DD6, DD4 will be on the March 4th cruise. We are soooo excited! It will be our first time on DCL. We have been to both parks, and cruised on Carnival. I am soooo looking foward to combining my two passions- Disney and Cruising. Can anybody tell me about the kids club? Thanks!!

We went on our first Disney Cruise in April 2004 thank to the Make a Wish Foundation. My older daughter Alyssa has Cystic Fibrosis and this was her Wish.
It was awesome! Now they have the bug and we have to go back. My younger daughter was almost 4 at the time and they were both in the clubs all day into the very late night. They give you a pager and if the child wants you for any reason they page you, you can check on them at any time and they are accounted for and can tell you where they are if they leave the club for a meal or some other reason. There were a couple of nights when my wife anf I were waiting up for the kids to come home! THey really enjoyed it. It was a little tough to get everybody together for dinner but they had fun and made a lot of friends. If you don't have it already, get the DVD from DCL, it shows you the kids clubs in detail. Hope to see you on the cruise!

Hello MeRiVan, I also have a DS about the same age. My youngest will turn 6 while we are on the cruise and my oldest will be 8 next month. I am planning to ask that my oldest go into the younger group at the kids club because I know that he will want to be with his brother. Do you have early or late seating? We have early seating. This is also our first cruise and we plan to do disney before the cruise because our boys loved it so much when we were there a couple of years ago.

:wave:Hello Everyone!!
We also are on the March 4, 06 "Magical" cruise. We can't wait! This is our first Disney cruise - we have cruised twice before with RCC. Our party consists of me(DW), my DH, and our two children, DD 6, and DS 4.

Hi!

Just found this thread.

We are going on our first disney cruise, DH DS(11) DS(8), and we are already excited! My sister and her family are joining us (one baby 15 months).

We did Disney last spring break, after planning the trip forever! My husband kept saying this is our "one" trip to Disney, but no sooner had we left the tarmack in Orlando....he was thinking about next year!

We talked to several people who had done disney two years in a row, and they said it just wasn't the same the second time....which led us to think about the cruise.

I have to say, I am really looking forward to this! The thought of having some time with my husband while the kids are having fun really appeals to us!

I haven't yet convinced my sister to use flounders...she is still a new mom, and can't imagine leaving him with "strangers"......I am hoping she gets over that soon!

Anyone else with boys that are around 8 and 11? My boys are both VERY social, and not shy at all!

Sandi

Hi SandraB,

Welcome to the cruise board. I am glad to hear you have a DS11 and DS8. I have a DS10 who is our only son that will be with us on the cruise. He has a friend who just came back from one of the west coast cruises with Disney and he really has my son psyched. He tends to be a little shy, but I think that will wear off really fast on this incredible ship. My DS10 has two cousins one 11 and one 7 and he plays with them both so maybe they will become a threesome on board??

Although we did not do Disney this last spring break, we did hit Disneyland in November of 04. I think enough time has passed to do it again. Besides this will be our first cruise.

Talk more with you later

Or does this thread seem kinda bare?

I imagine the ship would be pretty full....but maybe not!

Our spring break is a little early, which last year worked out great at DISNEY, we didn't have any lines until the end of the week, and walked onto many rides at the beginning of the week.

We only plan on doing Magic Kingdom for the day, on friday, this time. THe boys also want to do Typhoon Lagoon on the day we get back.

anyway, looking forward to getting to know you all.

btw....allcanadian....where in canada are you from?

sandi

Hello SandraB, we are from Fredericton, where in New Brunswick are you from? Who knows maybe we are neighbors. Where are you flying to Orlando from? We are planning to drive to Bangor the Monday before the cruise and fly out Tuesday morning so we can spend a a couple of days at Disney. Our boys also want to do a day at Magic kingdom and a day at Typhoon Lagoon. They were their favorite places the last time we went two years ago.Only 5 and a half months to go !!!! Shelley

Hello All

There must be more of us booked on this cruise.
Things have changed with my husbands work & he would rather not take a week off in March this year. So that leaves me with a big decision to make. Do I tranfer the resie to 07 once they rates come out or take the cruise with the girls. My oldes dd will turn 13 2days after cruise & my other dd will be 9.
The cruise part doesnt really bother me it would be the flight I would have issues with & the night before the cruise. Any comments would be welcome.
thanks in advance & hope to get to know you all

Hi Shelley,

We live in Lincoln Heights....and have two boys...ages 7,and 11. They go to George St. and Liverpool elem.

We are planning on driving to Manchester NH and flying on Southwest. They have airfare that can go as low as 49$/each way. Last year we flew out of Portland. We did Disney for a week last year, so we plan on just doing the friday before at Magic Kingdom. Our boys loved Blizzard Beach, so we plan on doing Typhoon Lagoon on the Saturday we return from the cruise, and flying home on Sunday.

We are really excited about the cruise.....and with the dollar doing so well....it isn't quite so expensive!

I have a friend doing the Western at Christmas, and I can't wait to hear all about it! My sister is cruising with us also, with her baby and husband.

Can't wait!

Sandi

Hi everyone! This is my family's third DCL cruise, however first time on the Magic. Our older son is a freshman at Indiana State so this will be our first trip without him :guilty: . Our other son, Alex 11, is bringing a friend, Ross 11 so they should have a blast.

We booked this cruise while on the Wonder in June. Saved some money and received a $200.00 stateroom credit per room :cool1: . We booked two cat 6 rooms (#6572 & 6574). My sister and her husband are also going. Last June was their first Disney cruise and now they are as addicted as we are.

--Hi Sandi...the sdp in sdptalk are my initials -- I'm Sandy, too. :goodvibes

Anyway, the rest of us are my husband 44, me 42, sister 43, and her husband 45.

Only 5 more months  :Pinkbounc

Sandi, I also live in Lincoln Heights. We live on the corner of Faith court and Leisure Street. My boys go to Mongomery street school. Matt is in grade 3 and Lukas is in kindergarden.I can not believe that we are actually neighbors-small world.Your kids will probably love Typhoon lagoon, it was the highlight of my kids trip last time we went to Disney. We are staying at the Radisson at the port the night before the cruise so the kids can spend the day in the pool-they love the water. Shelley

Hi! My DS will be 6 on Jan. 5th so he can definately play with yours. His name is Kyler and he's really good natured and outgoing. The baby will be 3 1/2 and I don't know how they split up the groups, but they're both pretty independent and they won't mind being apart if that's how it works.

OH! And we got stuck with a late seating because we originally were supposed to take this trip next month and my husband went and got himself promoted, so we had to postpone. I asked to be put on a waiting list for the early seating because I cant imagine keeping these poor kids up so late just to have dinner.

MeReVan, That's great that our kids are the same age. My youngest will have his 6th birthday while we are on the cruise. My kids are both very out going especially Lukas my youngest. We have the early seating because we booked the trip a year ago. Hopefully you will still be able to get the early seating if you are on a wait list because I know that my kids would probably fall asleep during supper because they both seem to need alot of sleep. You were wondering how the groups wre divided up and I think that I had read that it is 3-4, and 5-7 year olds together. We are also doing the cruise for our 10 year anniversary

That'll be so much fun having a birthday on the cruise. My husband's birthday and our anniversary are the next week, but there was no sailing for that week. I heard they'll make a big fuss when they find out it's his birthday.

I think I know you! We met when you were pregnant? I think? I stayed home with my boys when they were little...I used to live on Logan St. but we moved onto Wilfred 3 yrs ago (yellow house on the court). I am good friends with Josie, who used to live across from you. My oldest son is friends with Grant Langdon...aren't you friends with Gail?

Anyway...small world! We too booked our cruise last year. I think your oldest son is the same age as my youngest. Grade 3?

take care....Sandi

Sandi, I remember you. You are right we did meet when I was pregnant. My oldest is in grade three. And yes I did hang around Gail when she live by us, we have not seen her as much since they moved out of the neighborhood. Shelley
