There are instructions in the room with the phones that explain exactly how to call other phones and how to call the rooms

To call a room phone you have to dial 41 + the room number

To call another wave phone you just dial the room number plus the 1 or 2 after depending on which phone you are calling. You have to know which phone is which otherwise if you call yourself you will get a busy signal

You would be amazed - I read a post not too long about that someone kept getting a busy signal whenever they tried to use the wave phone. It ended up being that they were calling their own.

I personally thought they were a dang nuisance! We didn't use them, but they sit there, taking up one of the already scarce plugs, with a really bright led and they beep insistantly if they need a charge. If it were up to me, the room host would take them away on the first day and not bring them back until I'm gone.

No, that's when the battery drains and they start beeping. It woke us up one night- really a pain. I can see how they are a great idea but for us they were more of a pain. The one day when we really could have used it the one my DH had was totally not functional. He took it to Guest Services and she took the battery out and put it back in again and it then worked. She acted as if she had done that to a thousand phones already. I'm sure they'll work out the kinks with time..

the idea of the phones is great, but we had a heck of time getting them to work.

For no particular reason, we'd lose reception top deck, and sometimes aft too. then it'd come back a few minutes later. Calls to other phones sometimes took 5 dials to connect. And most calls that did connect - it became impossible to for one party to hear the other. I think that was caused when they're used in a high traffic (noise) area, but most frequent usage is needed when you're in line to see the princesses, or at the pool, or in the theater trying to find the rest of your party. It became easier (and took longer) to text a message using the phones instead of placing a call.

Yup. There's a phone radio tower on the Cay. Worked fine on the beaches with a fully loaded Dream in port. I was near Cookies Too and was able to talk to someone on the ship. Didn't get a chance to try them out at the far end of the bike path, though. Maybe someone else can comment about that.

Does anyone know if the Dream wave phones now have some sort of case or clip? (I heard one of the other ships had started to provide that, but that the Wonder had not).

We used the phones a little but they sat on the desk most of the time. They weren't bad but mostly we didn't feel like carrying things around and didn't have trouble finding people when we needed too (and that wasn't often). We were on The Wonder which is a lot smaller than The Dream so I might feel different on the larger ship.

You will get charged $250 if a phone is damaged or lost. That also helped keep our use to a minimum. One day I was in the hot tub and a guy came in and sat down only to discover he had one in his pocket. They are not water proof.

about the size of your typical home cordless phone.
Some people had clips - ours must have been broken of by previous passengers, The phones stayed in a bag or pocket - which also meant we missed a lot of calls because they'll only vibrate, not ring.
