Unplanned trip this fall, so booked after 180 ADR threshold. We want to try some different TS places this time around. Table booked for Wave of American Flavors, but reviews are very mixed. Thoughts?

Our other TS ADRs:
Whispering Canyon (only repeat)
Sanaa
Yak and Yeti
La Hacienda de San Angel

Still hoping Be Our Guest has a lunch cancellation. We'll see if that pans out.

What meal at Wave?

We've had breakfast there 2 or 3 times and it has been fabulous each time.

We have eat breakfast many times, lunch once and all of them have been very good.

Yak and Yeti is a themed PF Changs and San Angel I can't say enough bad about. Keep the wave, but keep trying BOG. We have fallen into reservation days out simply because of cancelations. There are tons of great TS you can get within a week of travel.

I'd say check the boards and the restaurants menu. I'd tell you Via Napoli, but I don't want more people knowing about it.

Our Recommendations:
. . . appys:... Lump Crab-Florida Rock Shrimp Cake
. . . entree:.. Lamb Shank, Pork Tenderloin
. . . dessert:. Trio Dessert(s)
.
NOTE1: On the check-in level of Contemporary, past Front Desk, then left. The dining
entrées are a bit overpriced; service can be spotty, and food quality was only average.
Unfortunately, nothing to write home about or that demands a second visit. One problem
is food doesn't always come out as ordered, or hot. The restaurant is a quiet place to
eat as it doesn't seem to draw the loud kids or uncouth adults. To us, it is an OK place
to eat dinner, but nothing that rates a rave. The menu has American-type dishes versus
something abstract or exotic. We thought Lamb Shank and locally-sourced Pork Tenderloin
were very good, but were displeased with Oven Roasted Chicken and Beef Tenderloin. Trio
Desserts, with three samples on same plate, are pretty tasty. The good side is that the
bar is comforting and welcoming; a nice place to throw a few back. The eatery doesn't
exude "Disney", but atmosphere is pleasant.
.
NOTE2: Although mediocre for dinner, the breakfast buffet is one of WDW's best
kept secrets for both price and quality, the other being Trails End in Fort
Wilderness.

The Wave was our favorite dinner last time went. We have an ADR planned for this fall. Highly recommend!

Dinner reviews do seem to be mixed but almost everyone seems to rave about breakfast. I think we will be trying breakfast there this July!

We had dinner at Wave in February and loved it. The food was delicious and very fresh. We were a large party with 2 unruly toddlers and the waiter was great with us. He was very knowledgeable on the menu and very patient and friendly with the kids.

We've only had dinner there once. The food was good to very good and the service was adequate. But the noise! My lord, we practically had to shout across our 2 top to be heard. Now, most of the noise seemed to be coming from the bar area, so maybe we were just unfortunate enough to encounter a particularly unruly convention. But we're in no hurry to repeat the experience.

We've been to Biergarten, Tusker House, Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Artist Point, Whispering Canyon, Boma, T-Rex in the past. Want to try something different this time around. I'd love to try Via Napoli but am squeamish because of gluten intolerance. I know I'd not be able to resist the pizza!

BOG lunch last year and very much enjoyed. Am trying, trying trying

What are your favorite TS restaurants, besides the glutenous extravaganza at Via Napoli?
