I love my Birkenstocks but don't want to get them wet when we go to TL or BB. What what be a better 2nd set of sandals to take along...waterproof birkenstocks or crocs? I've never worn Crocs before and am unsure if the waterproof Birkenstocks are as comfy as the regular ones. Anybody tried both?

Many of my lifeguards wear thier crocs when they are guarding. I am thinking about buying some as well to wear for vacation.

CROCS!!!!!!!!!!!

We live in our Crocs until the snow flies! One of the great things we found is that they dry quickly and don't absorb the water. Plus, we find them very comfy and give us no blisters!

I bought regular crocs (closed toe) first and HATED them.....had ordered the Nile ones and tried to cancel them but they were already on their way. While I can't say I love them, they are very comfy and did well at BB in Oct (and around our pool all summer). Also wore them to AK so my other sandals wouldn't get wet on Kali, comfy all day there too. (well, til we left at 2, tired and HOT)

Crocs...

They cost less for starters...they are lighter weight...are designed for pool decks and boat decks so they don't slip on wet surfaces...don't have the super high instep like Birks (I'm practically flat footed so Birks hurt my feet after a couple of hours)...Crocs come in way cool colors...oh, and did I say they are less expensive?

Also, if you can't find the Crocs...try Holey Soles...they are the Canadian version and are the same shoe, just a different design on the top.

Here are the links for both..

Go with waterproof birkis! They are so comfortable. I found mine to be just as good as my other birki sandals. I had no problem with wearing them at the waterparks. :cool1:

I have painful plantar fasciitis. Do any of you who wear Crocs know if these shoes help (or atleast not make worse) the plantar fasciitis? On my last trip to Disney, I walked all day without problem, but once I went to bed, I nearly needed to crawl to the bathroom upon waking up! OUCH!

I started wearing Crocs after having awful pain with PF. I know crocs did not "cure" me but I wore them for about 2 weeks before a wdw trip and then exclusively at WDW and I had no problems. I believe they allowed my foot time to heal/be less aggravated. Now I still have some trouble when I first get up or after I wear other shoes but Crocs rule in my house. My Dd has made it a game to spot crocs at WDW. :thumbsup2

I have lots of Birkis that I love but for me the waterproof ones aren't that comfy. They are sufficient to wear around water but wouldn't want to wear them in the park all day. I know literally hundreds of people who have crocs and love, love, love them. I have tried them on and I think they are a lot softer and may be ok for all day at the park.
