Hi Folks - bit of a silly question this but here goes :thumbsup2

Last time we went (the only time) we never got a chance to goto the waterparks but as we are staying on site we thought that this time we could go to either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon......not sure about Wet n Wild but that's always an option as well.

Question is.....I noticed on some sites that some people wear T-shirts and others just go bareback if you know what I mean. Is either fine as would be worried for both me and my son are not sun worshippers so I don't have a tanned leathery look? :lmao:

Also my son is not a strong swimmer so are there areas of the park we should avoid - was planning on hiring him a life vest anyway just to be safe? This just comes out of ignorance at having never been at a water park!

Hello
When we went last year the children wore their sun protection suits (I know they have a proper name...but can't remember it!! Lol!) We also all wore swim shoes. No issues with any of those on the slides etc. DD4 was a non-swimmer and wore a life-jacket. She wore her own but you can hire them (you'd need to check details for this) at each of the parks. Hope that helps. Also you can chose the slides etc that suit your family's level of confidence in the water - we had a baby, a non-swimmer, 3 confident boys, 2 very ambitious Dads, a daring Grandpa and a timid (can't get her hair wet) Grandma. ALL were happy!!!:goodvibes

How old is he??
There are plenty of rides that end up shooting you into water. If he isn't a strong swimmer you might want to watch him carefully.
There are special 'kiddies' areas for children up to about 10 years old, but even here I still think they expect the children to be able to swim.
Don't worry about it.. once your there you'll be able to access the different rides yourself.

He is 11 - he is quite confident in the water but just not a strong swimmer. I suppose it is one of those things that I can guage when I get there!

I see you are leaving in a couple of days Tracy!

the bouyancy vests are free to rent, we put them on all our kids, better safe than sorry!
