Waterpark Touring Plans?

We've been to both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, but only for a few hours or partial day at a time. On this trip, we're dedicating an entire day to each park and have rented a cabana for each. When I reserved the cabana, the representative on the phone mentioned that our cabana host would meet with us first thing and provide some tips/recommendations for navigating the park. However, being the uber-planner that I am, I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations on touring plans for these parks? I've seen tips/tricks on various Disney sites, but no official touring plans, and would like to get an idea, in advance, of general strategies for maximizing time and minimizing crowds.
