I went to Aquatica last year and it was awesome! I can't wait to do BB and TL because they look even better.:woohoo: we love waterparks! Last year, I wore my bikini and a little skirt cover up. However, it kept getting soaked and losing its shape and sliding downwards:headache:
I don't want to just walk around in a bikini all day because some of the slides can be a bit unforgiving..:rotfl: So can a woman wear boardshorts meant for swimming? I was thinking a cute bikini top with matching board shorts. I can't imagine it would be a problem since men wear long swim trunks but if anyone knows for sure I'd love an answer!
thanks!:beach:

I wore a tshirt and a swim skirt over my one-piece. It kept me cool all day in the hot sun and prevented sunburn on my fair skin.:goodvibes

Basically we see almost anything at the water parks. However a person needs to consider that it is a family park. I do know that we do not allow thongs.

One word of warning; many teenage boys like to hang around the bottoms of the steeper slides for some unusual views of some of the women who come down them.

Lol! OMG thanks for the tip!:scared1: So I'm assuming that board shorts and a bikini top are acceptable, then!

Wish someone would have told a group of women that when we were there last weekend!!!!

If you are asking if you can wear shorts, I wear tankinis where the bottoms are shorts, for the safety and comfort of others I won't wear anything thigh exposing. Board shorts should be fine.

:lmao: You just have a way of saying things.

I keep a very long tank top/vest top on, which reaches almost mid thigh. I also don't like walking around 'exposed'. Only down side is tan lines ....

EDIT: I should add, to avoid any doubt, that I wear this top over my bathing suit, not instead of!

I have a question also.. I hope it's o.k. if I ask it in here since it relates:)
My dd (13) burns very very easily. We regularly apply sunscreen, but she likes to put a t-shirt over her bathing suit after awhile as well. Would that be o.k. or considered street clothes? If it's an issue I should probably invest in a rash guard for her.

I wear a rash guard tee and North Face Board shorts! (made for girl surfers!!) I got them on zappos.com! Very comfy and flattering and up for the challenge of slides and such! They hit me at about the knees. They were perfect!

Let's put it this way. They cannot require someone to be LESS covered up based on gender (more, yes, where breasts are concerned). So yes, board shorts are fine.

I wear an F cup and can never find a suit that supports "the girls" properly , so my usual swim wear is guys' swim trunks, a supportive sports bra, and a tank top. I have worn that to both Disney water parks (on all the rides) without issue.

As fashionable as it is for girls of all ages, both young and old wearing bikinis on the beach, just for the purpose of getting some sun on a warm day, or in a local swimming pool. For a waterpark, it might not be a bad idea to pick up a one piece suit with more coverage that is more likely to stay up during some of the wilder water slides and rides. I'm a female myself and find that a one piece suit is just a lot easier to deal with at a water park.

cute again?!?!?

Board shorts are great and perfectly acceptable. The bikini top, however, may tend to leave your body on certain slides. Be well warned there's quite often a 'view' on the faster, steeper slides (even with certain bottoms that tend to get 'sucked in' shall we say!) As I was waiting for my friend to come down cowabunga (or whatever that was called) and trying to catch HER on camera I was privvy to TWO incidents where the 'girls' escaped. Just warning! I had no probs with my tankini top, perhaps because it was a wee bit longer? Even with your hands strapped across your chest that material gets together with the water and has a right old party!:scared1:

I wear the same thing.

Added plus - guy's swim trunks tend to have pockets. I buy cargo short-style and keep my keys (or card key), a travel bottle of sunscreen, and a little Speedo chamois/swim towel in them so I'm not leaving things around on a beach chair that someone else could be using.

Does anyone know if you can wear flip flops instead of water shoes? I know you can't wear them down the slide, but will they let you hold them? I just hate walking barefoot.

We held our flip flops going down Slush Gusher at BB and no one said anything.

i think they only thing they tell you that you can't wear at the waterparks are thing with metal studs and such. I assume so you don't damage the tubes or lining of the slides.

Also, a tip that I found. If you can find a bra type swim top they tend to stay on the best and I usually get the boy short bottoms. They don't ride up or slide around like bikini bottoms. I like to get a tan on my stomach too so I generally avoid one piece or tankinis but enjoy the water rides. The bra type top and boy shorts work well.

As far as the flip flops. I think they will let you hold them.
