Water

How do you feel about using the ice in the bucket?

I thought there was a plastic bag liner in the ice bucket?

I don't use the ice in the bucket except to chill the overpriced sparkling wine I order. I get my ice whenever I need it at the drink stations. I have a refrigerator to chill whatever is in my room.

Make sure you wash your ice bucket first. I've seen all sorts of things stored in ice buckets in my years of traveling. Some of those things are *not* what I would want in contact with my drinking water.

LOL...they make great sea sick buckets. :boat: :faint:

Really, really picky about water.....can't drink it at the parks.
Ship's water is fine. Reverse osmosis.....the same thing we have at home

That's good to know. I can't drink it at the parks bc of the taste. I drink copious amounts of bottled water there every year and every year swell up like a balloon. Maybe it is all day in the heat?? not sure. Anyway...

I did not think that it was bad tasting, but it caused me to swell. The 2nd week of our cruise, I drank exclusively bottled water and the swelling went down. I think that if you are not sensitive to salts, you will be fine. Like I said, the water taste was fine, but I was thankful we carried on 48 bottles of water for 2 weeks. They were also handy on long excursions. We each brought a tumbler and straw for onboard, but having the bottled water in the ports was great. I did not book a single DCL excursion, we did them on our own...so no water was provided.

just in case: in what manner did you carry all that on? It must have weighed a ton! I think I will bring on a 12 at least for excursions, etc.

I have always received a plastic bag in my ice bucket both on the ships as well at all the Disney resorts I have stayed at. Now you all have me wondering if I will need to request one on my next sailing. Does it depend on where you get the ice from because I normally have room service bring me one each evening.

I think it was the food not the water.

I concur. I swell up about the sixth day usually, and it's more likely after I get into my Kryptonite, which is smoked salmon, gravlax and lox. My feet wind up looking like footballs.

Pay for water? Really? Somehow Disney gets us to pay for something that is available on the ship for free.

That would be akin to paying for a plate of cheese!

I used the spa's fruit infused water dispenser to fill up my water bottle multiple times a day. The staff said you can do that as often as you'd like to.
