Water Temp in Bahamas for early December Cruise

We've sailed November, December and January. The temperatures and water temperatures have all varied. Last year, in November the first stop at Castaway Cay was warm and comfortable, the following week, it was cool and the water was a little too cool for me to stay in very long. So it's hard to give you a specific answer to whether it will be "swim weather" on your cruise.

But we've always found that the weather in the Bahamas is much like the weather in Florida. Keep an eye on the weather map for Miami and you'll have an idea how things are in the Bahamas. I think right now, things have been warm so I still have hope that the water will be nice for our Nov/Dec cruises.

We will be on the January 2011 Panama Canal Repo cruise, and after hearing some of the replies, I'm not too concerned about water temps in CC in January. After all, we're from the west coast, and our sunshine gets to heat up the Alaskan water as it heads south...so that even on hot days, our water is at most "cool". I think January water temps in the 70's will be just fine for us! :goodvibes

For the Bahamas:

Average Dec. water temperatures were listed as 75-78 degrees F and air temperature averages were 72-85 degrees F.

That is warm for us Canadians!!!!!:thumbsup2
