water taxis the same for people doing disney excursions and people not doing excursio

I am trying to figure out whether to do Atlantis on our own or do the "Discover Atlantis" excursion Does anyone know if the water taxis are all the same or if I book the excursion I willl have a seperate water taxi? From what I have read I would think they were different otherwise why would I pay the extra money for the excursions through Disney?

I can only tell you what we have always done and has worked out well.

At the end of the dock you'll find taxi (land) drivers to take you to Atlantis. The price is $4.00pp and $l.00 for toll on the way over which you can share with other passengers (no toll coming back). Have always found these drivers very pleasant and eager to answer your questions. Your taxi may be a limo or a van and have other passengers with you. The driver will walk with all of you through Festival Place and the car will be outside that area. When through at Atlantis, you'll find a taxi right outside the door to take you back to the ship.

The water taxi used to be right at the end of the dock also but has now moved further away down toward the Straw Market area. We took a water taxi on our very first cruise but that was on our own and not thru Disney. I would recommend the land taxi as it is much quicker.

Not only is the land taxi quicker, but it will drop you right at the door. The water taxi drops you about a block and a half away.

We've done Atlantis on our own twice and it is the only way we would ever do it. It is so easy to do on your own and the best part is you can take everything at your own pace.

When we were just there..doing the guided history tour..we inquired from the tour guide.

She said..definately take a taxi over to atlantis..much better she said. approx $4.
