Hi -- I am planning our first trip to the Disney Waterparks and am wondering should we have Watershoes ? we are myself and kids DS 8 and DD 11 . Thanks Michelle

I made the mistake of forgetting them when I went on my honeymoon and I bought some at BB for $10.00 because my feet were peeling from the cement. I still think that was the best money I ever spent. Now we don't leave home without the watershoes.
kim

Ya know, this thought never occured to me before our last trip... and for our family, these are a must! Not only do you not have to worry bout other peoples nasty feet.... yuck! But at BB, the cement was scorching hot! It was burning our feet! Our kids could not walk on it, had to be carried!

Lands end has some cool water shoes that look like a tennis shoe w/ mesh... anyways... i think these are what we are getting!
They look pretty comfy and are supposed to dry fast!

I agree!!! Watershoes are a must!!! We normally get the cheap ones from WM. We also carry them to AK in a backpack and slip them on when we ride Kali RR.

Can you wear them on any of the slides? If not, where do you stow them?

I think you can wear them on all the slides

I was almost in tears because my feet hurt so much! Stupid cement! Definitely need those water shoes! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

You can't wear them on the 2 big slides at BB, but they'll let you go down them holding your shoes in your hands.

yes! My kids like the Nike water shoes, the toes are open and they don't get "filled up" with water!

Foot germs - yuk..........going in the restrooms - major yuk............sticking to hot cement - ouch..............tearing them up raw on that bumpy concrete in wave pools etc - makes me want to cry..............I've never been asked to take them off, but I don't go on the two biggest at BB and only once on biggie at TL, scared of heights and prefer to keep my girls where they belong - hidden ;) ;)

...and find them invaluable. They are great as a spare pair of shoes when our feet get tired of our sneakers. We were only asked to take them off on Summit Plummit and we held them across our chest on the way dooooooowwwwwwnnnnnnn. They provide much more support than regular water socks. When I inquired of Disney, they told me any shoes are allowed as long as they don't have metal buckles/fasteners. Here is a link to a random site that sells them: http://www.altrec.com/shop/detail/17106/?froogle&other=1

The UPS guy just dropped off the Lands End water shoes I ordered for my dd and myself. I got the slip-on ones-they are very nice.

Wowsers!!! :earseek: Watershoes are an absolute MUST!

If you don't have them, you will certainly wish you had! The cement is burning up and your feet will get torn up.....which you don't want to happen before you have to walk in the parks the next day!

Not to mention going into the restrooms!

They are a must esp. in the bathrooms!!!! And it gives my Ds traction so he doesn't as much.
