I have seen people mention the need for water shoes for the water parks. What do you do with the shoes when you go on a slide? Are you allowed to wear them on the slide? Thanks for the help.

When I was there a month ago, I seen everyone wearing them on the slides :)

I was just at BB... the water shoes are a personal preference... a lot of people were wearing them (and on the slides too) and yeah there was some cute disney ones.. but me, dh and dbff did not wear them and there wasnt a real need to either... at least in BB they had water spraying out from different parts all along the sidewalks that kept them wet.. so it was never really hot at any given time that you burnt the bottoms of your feet.. and believe me this past sat was a HOT HOT HOT day... if you plan to bring your own food and grab a table in one of the sandy places or go to the "beach" and dont care for sandy feet then i would wear them..

have a fun day!

The only slides you can't wear them on is the Body slides (Summitt Plummit, Humunga Kowabunga, Slush Gusher). On these you hold them in your hands as you ride the slide.

If I recall the last time we were at TL two years ago, the bottom of the wave pool was relatively smooth. Has anyone been there recently to confirm it is still smooth and won't scuff up the bottom of your feet? Last summer we went to the wave pool at Dorney Park and the bottom of the pool was so rough to keep people from sliding that my DS's feet started to bleed. Everyone was buying water socks at the store that day!

I remember it as having some sort of texture, so that, yes, you could hurt your foot (I stubbed my toe). It was a lot better than other water parks, though.

We've always worn the water shoes at the parks, but for a different reason.
We went to our local water park, which is really a nice, clean park, one summer years ago. That October my daughter developed a wart on her toe. I took her to the doctor and the first thing she asked, did you go to Splish Splash this summer? I said, yes. She said there are always kids coming into the office during the beginning of the fall with warts on their feet. She said it takes a few months for the wart to develop and that she was probably infected at the water park. We did not wear water shoes then. The doctor said that we should always wear the water shoes whenever walking around a place like that.

So that's the reason we wear water shoes at the park.
Believe me, those things are just soooo unfashionable! But I don't want to get warts (or any other skin affliction involving the feet!)

If they have any metal snaps or zippers on them, the CM's will ask that you take them off and hold them during the slide. Otherwise they don't seem to care.
