We are heading to the water parks at Disney soon...our children are 6 and 9 years old...Which water park should we plan on spending our longer days at? I have heard that one of them is geared more towards teenagers and adults, but I can't remember which one. Thanks for any information! :cool1:

Hi! We have been to both water parks and personally we like Typhoon Lagoon a little better because we feel there is more shade there. Blizzard Beach is the one they say that attracts more teenagers because there seem to be more "thrill" type slides there. However, I do believe Blizzard Beach does have a cool section for children under 12 that my son seemed to enjoy. Maybe someone else can give you more details. Both are really nice, but with children 6 and 9, I personally think Typhoon Lagoon might be a better choice. JMHO. I am sure you would, however, enjoy both. Good Luck! :sunny:

We've been to Blizzard Beach twice with our children, ages 10, 8, and 6 this past March ... 9, 7, and 5 last year. What Blizzard Beach has is an area just for kids ... it has training camp in the name of it. In one area alone ... (so that you can see them all) there are cool "ice blocks" to walk across ... while holding on to a rope type netting ... there are slides with rafts, things you can hold on to and go out over the water on then jump ... place to swim of course ... and I like it because all three kids enjoy that one area. From there, we can easily get to the top of the "mountain" for the family raft ride. And we can easily get into the creek for the ride around the park on individual rafts. I think you'd enjoy it. Try looking at the BB website through disney!! :-)

We went to TL last year w/ a 6 & 7 yr. old and they loved it! Both are excellent swimmers so they loved the beach and wave area. We are heading back in May and decided we are going back to TL b/c we loved it so much. BB looks fun also but the wave pool won! :sunny:

the kids area is Ski Patrol, there's another section for smaller kids called Tykes Pike. Our last trip the kids were 12, 6, and 6. They voted BB the best. They liked the "ice bergs", slides, and zip line in Ski Patrol. BB also has a lazy river and a longer family raft ride then TL. My ds12 was able to do some of the bigger slides and find his way back with no problems. We also did TL but the 6's were afraid of the wave pool after getting knocked down a few times. Ds12 like the swim with the sharks but dd's6 heard the word shark and refused to get in. BB does have a wave pool but it's smaller then TL's. The kids area at TL is geared for preschoolers, rather then school aged kids. My dd's thought it was way to babyish and they said there wasn't anything "big enough for us to do". They thought the kiddie slides were way to small and they never got to try the water gun things, there were a few dad's that were having to much fun to let the kids try.
