In our old life (Before little ones) we loved water parks...now we have DS3 and DS6 (Functions like a 3 yr old)

Not sure if there is enough to do at the water parks with them to justify the price of admission.

Also worried that I might be a nervous wreck the whole time and might find it more stressful than relaxing.

Blizzard Beach does have a better childrens area imho... they would really enjoy and its not stressful at all. they will love the lazy river as well... but for us... dh would watch ds and I would run and do a few big slides. We would take turns but he doesn't care for the slides. Since we live in Ohio and do the indoor waterparks quite a bit in the winter, I doubt we do any waterparks at Disney on our next trip. We would rather spend that time in the parks. Especially since we take a mid day break for a nap :) which really worked out well for us. DS is use to being in bed at 8 every night. a nap was a must to stay later and watch fireworks! You would enjoy it, but depending on how many nights you'll be there... may want to stick to the parks. We were there 10 nights so we had plenty of time and did not rush :)

We are staying 7 days this trip, our fifth trip this year (Love AP's!) We have two rest days planned and thought maybe a water park for one of them. Any more opinions welcome please!

I loved the water parks, but if I were you, I would wait until the kids are old enough to enjoy them. My DS5 loved the water parks, but the boy is a fish.

We love the water parks, and for us spending time at the water parks is relaxing. However, we are big water people...in the summer we swim most every day at the cummity pool, older kids swim on the swim team, play water polo, etc. I like the change of pace from the regular parks to time at the water parks...water is just peaceful for me. We also use the resort pools, and we contemplated not adding the plus feature to our passes for our next trip since we are staying at POFQ, so we can explore two cool pools...POFQ and POR. But we know we will enjoy our time at the water parks, and without that time we will be tempted to do more than we should in the parks. I would recommend BB over TL if you will be following both boys by yourself, there small kid area is easier to monitor small kids in. I found TL to be more of a challenge in that regard. For us the added expense of the water parks is money well spent.

We went to Typhoon Lagoon when my sons were 3 and 5. They loved the kiddie area. It has very small water slides and places to shoot water guns, etc. The kiddie area even has a small ride where they can ride a tube down a small hill. It's great for young kids. Plus they have tons of sandy areas where the kids can play in the sand. I was very impressed.

If you go to WDW frequently, then you should definitely check out the water parks!

I think its a great change of pace and your kids are the perfect ages. I'd agree that Blizzard Beach is better for little ones, especially your 6 yr old, than Typhoon Lagoon. They have a kiddy area and also a pre-teen area, whereas TL only really had a kiddy area (in addition to the thrill-type stuff). We just took our 4 yr old and 15 mo. old sons there and they each had a ball. Granted, they'd have fun at any pool and even the bath tub, but its just neat to see how Disney does a waterpark. My husband and I each took a kid to their respective areas, and we switched off after an hour or so him and I would see/do different things. We had a great day.

Enjoy!

My sister & I both loved water parks when we were little, although we could both swim well at a young age. I remember a visit to TL when I was 8 and she was 3 & 1/2, and she was all over that wave pool!

If your boys are not good swimmers, both parks have life vests you can use for free, which may help alleviate the "nervous wreck" part of you. I'd say go for it & have fun! :)

My kids would rather go to the waterparks than the theme parks. But we are a water loving family! We find them very relaxing and they have excellent areas for small kids. I think you would find them well worth the price. Check on adding the Water Parks & More option onto your MYW tickets, the price might be better that way. We usually go for 7 days and get a 4 day MYW ticket with water park options, that gives us I believe 3 days of water parks or Disney Quest.

We go to the waterparks on the days in between theme parks. That way we have a cooler, more relaxing day and not 2 days in a row in a hot theme park.

If you kids like being in the pool then they will LOVE BB or TL!

We took our almost 3 year old DD in January. She was thrilled by the pool at the hotel. Depending on where you're staying, that might be more than enough for your little ones. I think she would have been overwhelmed by the waterparks and I know I would have been a nervous wreck. I think Disney Quest would have been over her head too, so I don't feel we really missed out by not getting the water parks & more option on our tickets this time.

I guess for the first time I will have to not agree with the previous posters. My dd (5) hates the water parks. DD is timid and finds the other kids play too rough for her tastes. Also I found that the CMs were very lax about letting older children play in the areas meant for younger kids. At a pool my dd is like a fish, at the water parks she is miserable. SO I would say it really depends on the temperment of your kids.

We took my Dd4 to Typhoon Lagoon and she loved it. There's a great little kids area to splash around in and a mini sized water slide. She also liked the family raft ride with me and Dh and she loved the wave pool. I got her a lifejacket so I wouldn't have to worry so much, esp. in the wave pool. I think the water park was one of her favorite things on the trip.

We took DD to BB when she was 3 and she had alot of fun in the kiddie area, wave pool and Lazy river. Also the family raft ride was fun too. Dh and I take turns going on a few of the bigger slides. It was relaxing IMO.
