Where do you put your stuff when you go to the water parks, Disney or otherwise?
We are going to a local Six Flags park on Saturday and they have a water park within the park. The amusement park opens at 10 and the water park opens at 11. I thought we could bring our stuff with us and go on some rides up near the water park and then when it opens at 11 we could go in and put some towels on 3 chairs (there are 5 of us, but the kids won't use the chairs, they'll be too busy). Do people generally honor towels on chairs? Should we put some flip flops on there too or something? We have to leave the water park at 12 to go eat lunch that is included in the ticket we bought, then we'll be back to the water park and I'd like to have a seat since I won't be going in the water. :cloud9:
I guess someone will be making a run out to the car with the towels after we are done in the water park as they close about 5 hours before the park does. ;)

I always rent a locker at a water park for my keys, wallet and phone and non water park clothes. Most people won't move a towel from a chair at least at the water park near me but I usually go on slow days when there are enough chairs for everyone.

If the park is busy and you leave them for long periods of time you may have someone move the towel shoes etc to the ground near the chair or possibly even have them stolen. I would think at six flags people will come and go especially mid day so I don't think it would be too hard to find at least a chair or two.

I worked at BB and TL for a year and we never really got any complaints about people touching others belongings. I wouldn't leave anything more then towels that you don't have an attachment to though just in case. A locker is always a good choice though for your wallet, keys, etc. Especially since you are going on rides its always good to have those safe.

Locker,I wouldn't feel right all day worrying about my belongings.I put my stuff in there when we get there and go back to it throughout the day for lunch or maybe to reapply lotion or whatever. Most parks require you to pay your locker plus a deposit that you get back when you return the key.

Yeah I hate that I spend almost $100 a season just on locker fees, my local amusement park with a waterpark included just raised their prices mid season. A small locker is $13 plus $4 deposit, a large locker is $21 plus $4 deposit. I guess I should be glad they don't charge for tube rentals like some other waterparks and have plenty of free tubes available for the lazy rivers and the slides that require a tube.

I wouldn't leave anything other than a towel out on a chair. My daughter had her cinderella cover up and hat on a chair at typhoon lagoon and someone stole it. You should have heard my 3 year old crying over that!!
At our local water park we actually rent a cabana when we go and inside each cabana is a safe so our stuff stays locked up right there with us.

Please note six flags no longer let's you on rides if your carrying much of anything. They make you rent a locker at each ride for 1$ yes each ride! At least that was true last time I was there.

I bring in nothing of value! I have beach bag with our towels and my old cheap pay as you go cell phone. I wear my car key on my swim short's tie. They key for my car is not a key but one of those block remote things with a detachable real key that only works the door. I leave the changes of clothes and purse etc in the car (concealed of course). We only go for a few hours so I don't need money. So far I have not run into problems but I do know others who have had things stolen. I don't want to deal with that, so I don't bring anything in. It's amazing to me to see all the people with their expensive electronics and phones just walking around at a water park!

I keep credit cards, season passes and some cash in a waterproof case on a lanyard, around my neck. I pack our clothes and 3 towels in an old gym bag. We never sit on the chairs, so I just leave our gym bag in a corner of one of the places in the middle of the park. At Water Country, that's Critter Korral/kids' zone, or Surfer's Bay. We never even stop to use towels or anything. At the end of the day, I just grab it and we change in the locker room. In 8 yrs no one has ever messed with our stuff.

I rent a locker. If I didn't have personal things like keys or a wallet, I would have no problem leaving my things on a chair. But since I do, locker it is! Usually when I go to a Disney waterpark, it's a different story. I'll take what I need, leave the rest in the safe at the resort. Cash goes in the lanyard around my neck.

When we go to our local parks I leave everything at the chairs. Of course when I say everything its really our change of clothes, towels and sometimes we bring a cooler. Honestly if someone is that needy/or bad that they steal our stuff, so be it. Things can be replaced. We've never had a problem though. I carry the cash and camera with me if needed. For us though, its all a water park so everyone is doing the same. I'm not sure what I would do at a water/amusement park. Probaby leave my stuff at the chairs while we are in the water and then pack things back in the car for the dry rides.

Are the lockers at BB and TL in the change rooms or are the after the change rooms. In other words will I have to get two lockers or will my DD and myself (dis dad) be able to share a locker?

We carry a waterproof case with us when we ride the slides. The rest of our things we put on our chairs. We typically ride the slides for the first hour, then we hang out at the wave pool and one of us is sitting with our things. We have never had a problem. I also will say to the people next to us...."Hey about if we watch each other's things."

When we use the waterproof case we put the credit cards in a ziplock bag and then put it in the case.

The lockers are outside, not in a change room. The regular lockers are not that big so I always limit how much I bring,if you have a big family there are bigger lockers.

Thanks, it will just be the two of us all we will have is our towels, shorts and t-shirts. After the water parks will head back to the resort before a late supper. I would hope that one locker will do us.

One of the bigger lockers should definitely be able to hold your stuff. A smaller one might even do it.
