Water Parks & More option in December?

We have a 10-day park hopper pass for end of Dec/first of Jan. We would save $200 total if we didn't get the Water Parks option. I think one of the water parks is closed while we are there...so I'm wondering is it really worth it to pay $200 more on the off chance that it might be warm enough one day to go to a water park.

As far as the "and more" I know that it is also good for Disney Quest. Do you usually spend time at Disney Quest. What about the Sports complex -- is a visit there worth it if there is no events going on?

You could always wait to add it when you get there. If it is not warm enough, you could save the money. Also, if you are only interested in going to a water park once and not visiting DQ, it is cheaper to pay the one time admission to the water park than to buy the WPFAM option.

I don't think it is worth it unless you are planning to spend quite a bit of time at Disney Quest. You would get off cheaper by buying a one day pass to either the water park or Disney Quest. You don't say whether or not you have kids - if you do, the &more option might be good for you if you think they will enjoy Disney Quest.

Personally in the last two years I've gone in December and there was only one or two days that were warm enough to go swimming and the water was freezing in the resort pool even though it is supposedly heated. I don't think they heat the water parks.

Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach - 1 Day Pass $40.00
Disney Quest $42.60

I forgot to mention that Pleasure Island is going to be closed at that time of year so you won't get any extra value from that portion of the &more option.

I wouldn't recommend adding that option, especially at a cooler time of year.

We added it to our passes in October 2005, and only used it as a Pleasure Island club admission (which cost around $20 if purchased separately). Wished I hadn't done it ahead of time - the weather was unexpectedly cool (not "pool weather") and we didn't do the water parks at all.

Last time I checked, a one-day water park pass was around $38 - still cheaper than adding the WPAM option to a pass. Now that Pleasure Island isn't around any more, that option just isn't as appealing as it once was.

2 DDs ages 9 and 14 -- I think they would probably enjoy Disney Quest. I just don't know if it is worth the extra $200.

Anyone have comments as to how much your kids enjoyed DQ?

Since this is likely our only family trip to Disney we didn't want to put too many limitations on what we did.

But...yea one WP is closed and we may never visit the other one!

 Oh...DECISIONS,DECISIONS!!!

When my brother and I were that age we really enjoyed Disney Quest. We went again last time and didn't enjoy it as much, but it's different now, too.

We always go in Jan/Feb and hit a water park every time, but this time we're NOT doing the WP&M option this time, since the only option we'd use would be the water parks, and we only do that one day so it's much cheaper to just get the ticket at the gate.
