...or resort swimming. Doable? Likely? I expect weather will be pleasant, but warm enough for swimming?

Thanks in advance for your input!

On warm days, quite busy!

Every January/February one of the two water-parks is in refurb.

But the other park (and the hotel pools) will still be open and doing good business if its not too chilly (at night it can get VERY cold at certian times).

For the resorts, are the pools heated? Or does it depend on which resort you are staying at? What is the temp like in FL from Nov-Feb. I know it can be unpredicatble, but on average?

We're from the midwest and have learned to EXPECT ANYTHING as the weather goes in off-season Orlando.
We always pack winter and summer-wear.
In Dec/Jan/Feb we have even worn LONG THERMAL UNDERWEAR (after sundown)... we now pack it for any off-season trip.

Typical day:

Cool outside at 7am.
Wear shorts and Tee's.
Over that add a thin nylon wind-breaker
We put our "chilly-wear" and RAIN ponchos in a back-pack.
(Rain ponchos are REALLY cheap in hunting section of discount retailers.
You can buy BIG THICK ones to allow covering large jackets... more later.)

"Chilly-wear" is a nylon cotton-lined warm-up suit with zipper legs and a cotton-lined windbreaker.
We buy OVER-sized in these so they can easily be put on OVER other clothing.
After standing in the sometimes chilly "early-entry" lines we can usually take off the wind-breakers.
We always rent a locker at the park(s) and leave our "chilly-wear" in the locker 'til sun-down.
If it looks like rain (in Florida? Who'da thunk?) we take the Ponchos.

Much later, if its a warm night, we're just fine in the shorts.
If it turns windy/cool... we can visit the locker and choose which level of "chilly" OVER-WEAR to add to our clothing.

If it turns really COLD (windy 30's-40's not unheard-of at certain times of the year) we can make a restroom trip and slide-on the long underwear... OR... we can even add the final outer-layer of the RAIN ponchos (with their HOODS)... OVER everything else.
That trick (along with ear-muffs and gloves) has allowed us to "comfortably" stay and enjoy Fantasmic! or IllumiNations when others (less-prepared) have been "frozen-out."

I'm trying to decide if we should opt for the "waterpark fun and more" tickets...I hate to spend the extra $$ for five of us if it's unlikely to be warm enough for the waterparks... ;)

Occasionally you have rain showers that cool things off but that doesn't usually stop us. We've been in November & December and had different experiences during different years! play it by ear is all I can say....bring your bathing suites no matter what but you will just have to take it day by day. HAVE FUN! :cool1:

Thanks! I think I have DH talked into Nov/Dec '07, but we'll see. Although we may have to make a shorter trip to WDW before then. :teeth: We'll see how the points work out.

Are the pools at the resorts heated?

I would just wait and then add it if it's ok while your there .This can be easily done and most discounted tickets are not effected whether it's on them or not.

I have only been to WDW one time in the late fall/early winter season. It was the first week of Dec. Most days were warm, but did have a day of all day rain, which made the temp more in the low 60's. Now on that one rainy day, whenever I went back to the room (stayed at All Star Movies then), there were quite a few people in the pool, in the rain, and you could see the steam coming off the water with the cool rain hitting the warmer pool water.

We were there last December 3-9 and we swam every day. :thumbsup2
