Water Parks in May

We are thinking of going over to Disney after a few days of Universal to try a water park in May. We never seem to take time out of our Disney trips to visit a water park, but my kids have always wanted to.

How crowded would they be in early May? It seems like I would prefer Typhoon Lagoon, it seems like it would be less crowded and BB seems like it has more BIG slides that my youngest daughter couldn't do and I'm not sure if my son would anyway.

Also, TL sounds like a beautiful environment from reading on Deb's site and that is a big plus for me. Am I thinking along the right lines? Which would you chose with children 9 and 6? We could do both as we have two plusses, but that might be too much for one day. How late are the water parks open in May? Which has a better children's area? Could my oldest son play in the kids areas with my daughter or would he be restricted from that area because of his age or height? Any info. would be great!!! Sorry so many questions - I wish the search would work!

I'll try to help best I can:
we've been in early may a couple of times before and this was our experience with crowds: I believe during early May, the water parks are typically open from 10am - 6pm(they might close at 7pm some days, you can check the historical hours on the main page of this site). usually, the first couple of hours of the day can be relatively crowd free, but, in general the water parks will start to get very crowded by lunchtime and will remain that way throughout the heat of the day. we have PAP's and have found the best time to go is in the afternoon(after 3-4pm) when other famalies are starting to leave for dinner/evening plans....If you don't have season passes; this may not be the best for you...
We have found the crowd levels to be about the same at the two water parks; i.e. if one is crowded, the other is as well....In general, TL is a little more "tame" than BB(slides are smaller)and has a more tropical/laidback feel to it....the wave pool however, is more intense at TL.....BB has a really good area for the younger kids(i think the maximum ht. for this area is 48inches), can't remember about TL....they both have nice "lazy" rivers....at TL, you can also swim with sharks if you want(caution: the water is cold!)....BB can also be a very hot water park(lots of concrete)....they are both very enjoyable in their own ways and I would suggest doing both if time and resources allow....

We go late April and water parks fill up right away. We have foung it impossible to find a lawn chair at 10:30. TL is very nice but the wave pool is strong. BB would get my vote with the ages of your kids.
