Water Parks in August

Last August when we were in Disny, we didnt bother with the Blizzard or Typhoon. In the past when ive gone in April i went and they were just really busy. Not sure if its b/c April is just a crazy busy time to go or what. Heres my question. Are the water parks really busy in the summer b/c of the heat? I know the pools at the resort are!

The water parks are pretty busy during this time because the locals are also looking foe relief from the heat. We found that by arriving early we were still able to enjoy ourselves.

We found the water parks to be "crazy crowded" in the summer. Local residents with season tickets come in big packs. We go early an leave around 2PM

DH and I *love* going to the water parks during our annual summer WDW vacations! We either plan on being there BEFORE opening (we like to drive our own car as it's easier than the bus-if you get there early, the parking is great!) and taking our lunch...we have our own *special* spot that we like to shoot for that's away from alot of the action so it's more private and relaxing...or we like to go after lunch from around 1-2pm and stay until closing (usually 6-7pm). You would be surprised how empty the water parks can get...especially if there is the typical afternoon rain shower to scare them away. I have to say, though, that there is no fun in riding in a tube along the lazy river with hundreds of other people, staring at their feet or heads as they bump into you repeatedly.
We find other things to do with our time-most likely relax in the sun, read a book, eat our lunch, people watch-when the crowds reach that level.

If you're really into the water slides, I would especially encourage you to arrive EARLY...which is before opening, if at all possible. You will not regret it.

We love mixing up our days with the water parks-they are great fun!
