Water parks: Closing time, showers/locker rooms

If the water parks close at 5:00 pm, is that the time the rides close, and the showers and locker rooms are open a bit later? Or do they want everyone out by 5 pm?
Curious because the flight is at 9:20 pm, so I'm assuming DME will pick up at 6:20 pm (give or take.) Staying at Pop and undecided if the water park will be Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach--but most likely Typhoon Lagoon. Just trying to figure out timing...and what to do with any "extra" time. I know TL is close to Disney Springs...wondering if TL should be cut short by an hour or two for an early dinner there.

I don't think you will have enough time to hang around after closing. It takes awhile to get from the water parks back to the resort because there are no direct buses; you will have to transfer somewhere (probably Disney Springs, if you go to TL). I thought I had read that people were supposed to be ready and waiting for the DME pickup about 15 minutes before the scheduled time, but that could be incorrect. You will need to stop by luggage services and pick up anything left with them though.

Thanks! For some reason, I thought the buses went direct from TL to the resorts! It's good to know there won't be enough time unless we leave TL very early!

I'd double check that earlier post, when we were there there was resort buses from the water parks (but could be some multi-stop sharing so check when you arrive who shares, the bus attendant can help you with order of drop & will help you with planning your departure).

ETA: In fact we wanted to go from TL to DS & had to transfer at a resort because we couldn't go direct to DS. So, we experienced just the opposite of that earlier post.

Yeah, @bigbabyblues is correct - have to transfer at DS for TL, AK for BB (it’s a total pain, TBH).

You are definitely not going to have extra time. I would plan on leaving the water park no later than 4:15. Earlier if you want to get dinner before you leave.
