Has frozen pizza declined in quality lately?

Sounds like my mom when Hamburger Helper came out. 5 cents of pasta, pour a 15 cent can of Campbells soup on it. HH was 35 cents a box and more work!

you know the college in our little town is back in session when you overhear young people in the grocery aisles cell phoning their moms and exclaiming 'did you know that hamburger helper DOESNT come with hamburger????' 'do you know how expensive hamburger meat is these days???' (and you overhear the moms all replying the same answers to both questions 'yes, actually I do') :rotfl:

yup-never had a 'helper' type food until adulthood.

When my son moved into an apartment his Junior year of College, he called me from the grocery store. "Dad, did you know vanilla beans are $12 for 5?" I replied "you know vanilla extract is about $3.50?" He replied, "well Alton Brown says never use vanilla extract, on whole beans" To which I replied, "your mother and I are eating ramen to put you through College, you can use vanilla extract as a thank you|

nothing says "delicious" as a Tombstone at the local bar, heated up in the "pizza oven" by the bartender and he serves it up with hot peppers and parm. Especailly when you're a few beer in... even better!
I don’t know why a Tombstone pizza tastes so great at a bar. But, it really does.

My mother's late half-sister used to make the Chef Boyardee pizzas when she would buy the Chef Boyardee Pizza Kits and all my mom's cousins would eat them when they would have dinner or an after-school snack and my mom didn't know they existed until my mom's cousin showed the Chef Boyardee pizzas to her and my mom thought they looked neat. But my family used to buy Papa Murphy's Take And Bake Pizzas until they went downhill but I think that Totino's Pizzas are good and my parents sometimes buy them

I don't know why anyone still buys frozen pizzas when just about every grocery store has "fresh" take and bake pizzas. We usually do one of those doctored up unless we decide to order from somewhere. Used to do homemade a lot before I got laid off because I could sometimes get Boboli crusts dirt cheap. And I have occasionally made pizza with one of the pre-made dough balls, like when I tried to do Detroit style or when there were leftover Spiedies I wanted to use up on a pizza.

Also, having no freezer room because you've got a side-by-side fridge helps break you of the frozen pizza habit.
Yep believe it or not our favorite take and bake comes from Target

DH loves pizza and was given some frozen pizza at a friend's place, he came home saying the Rao's Pizza was good. When I looked it up to get the spelling right I noticed it is buy one get one 50% off at Target right now.
Rao’s is our only acceptable jarred sauce for emergencies, and for many I know.

I do because of different tastes/dietary needs. My hubby must have pepperoni and sausage on his pizza and those are two things I can't have. So frozen get each of us what we want.

I keep hearing that, it is super pricey though unless I was in a pricey store. Although, the entire wall of jared sauces was a bit of a shock. I stopped to pick up a jar because my emergency jar had expired and the volume of choices and price points caused legit analysis paralysis so I walked away thinking it was taking up too much energyo_O so I got nothing.

I keep home made in the freezer
