Water Park strategy for couple??

Hi everyone,

OH and I are off to Florida in september (not long now!!!) and I was just thinking about water parks...

I've only ever been to a waterpark with my family and usually someone would be left guarding the stuff, but obviously it's not going to be much fun if the two of us try to do this. So my question is - do people usually just get a locker for valuables and then leave the non valuables at a "base camp" for the day?

If not I guess we'd just have to bung everything in a locker until we want to have a rest. How big are the lockers if we were to do this?

I'm begining to think I worry too much about these things!!

We use the lockers and they come in two sizes. Usually put a towel and shoes on a seat and off we go.

From memory its $8 with a $2 refund or souvenir mug on return of locker key for a large locker

Locker rentals are available at High 'n Dry Towels $5 for a small size and $7 for a larger size. $2 is refunded when you turn your key back in.

We leave stuff like towels, sun cream etc on our sun loungers/chairs. I have one of those waterproof boxes that you hang round your neck,that I put money/credit card in. We only take waterproof disposable cameras with us - they usually take very good pictures. Don't have to worry about valuables then

We have used lockers in the past but there are so many that dont and the things we have left on the sun longers have never got stolen in the past.I feel more at ease in the usa.If I were over here or in spain I would be a bit more aware of what I left.I never leave any money or cameras etc though.

Yes we leave towels, clothes and a few other belongings on our loungers but cameras and money etc goes in a locker for when we are off around the park

We only visited the water parks for the first time in April.

We left our towels and clothes on our loungers. The more expensive things such as camera and money went into the lockers. That way we were able to enjoy the park without worrying about our things.

I aggree with the others get a locker and take minimal money and valuables with you. We have a waterproof bag that we take with us too and just leave our towels etc in that by the loungers.

Don't forget that you can also rent towels at the Water Parks so there's no need to take wet goopy towels back to your hotel / villa. I think they are only $2 but someone correct me if I am wrong as the old memory isn't what it used to be since having two children!

Please use a locker for any valuables and only leave around the lounger areas items that you would not worry about being taken.

I was with a large group of people one year and one of them left her purse pushed right down the bottom of a cooler bag full of food/drinks etc. We were going back and forth most of the day but her purse got taken.

Within 1 hour of it being stolen the thieves had already "spent" over $600 She realised very quickly that she should have used a locker.

When me and my Dad went last year we hired a locker and put all our money etc in there and only left suncream/books and towels by the loungers. If we wanted a drink etc we would go back to the locker and get the money. We had a great day knowing our valuables were safe

DH and I tend to put all our stuff in a locker and go get it when we need it. We can usually find somewhere to sit when it's time to eat lunch.

We put all of our stuff in the locker excpet for our towels, hats, and TL/BB refillable mugs. We've always been quite lucky, but wouldn't tempt anyone with anything we couldn't afford to loose.

I think we must of been naughty as we took the white hotel towels with us and as the ones there you hire are white we just put them in the towel bin when we left Noones ever said anything and we have done it the last twice-oopps!!
