Water Park Questions

So, it's been about 15+ years since I've been to a Disney waterpark. A lot of things have changed plus I have no idea what I did then.

What does everyone do with their belongings: wallet, car keys, etc? I don't want to leave stuff like that on our chairs, and I'm sure they have lockers, but how convenient are the lockers to use? Do you have to keep putting money in the locker everytime you take something out (I'm thinking about needing money for food). We are staying offsite so will not have MBs with which to charge to our rooms. Does anyone know of any waterproof containers I could put money/cc in and just keep with me?

Thanks in advance for your help!

1- I'm sure they have lockers, but

2- how convenient are the lockers to use?

3- Do you have to keep putting money in the locker everytime you take something out (I'm thinking about needing money for food).

1- Yes.
2- OK.
3- Nope.

If you will have the MB on this trip, you will be able to buy food without worrying about carrying your cash. We do a locker, and never go back until we are ready to leave.

There are waterproof pouches on neck lanyards that will hold an ID, credit card, and cash. I've seen ones big enough for a cell phone but I don't know that I'd use them for that, I just leave my phone in a locker with my change of clothes/shoes.

The lockers at Typhoon Lagoon are in a decent spot. I've never been to Blizzard Beach, though. You pay once, get a key on a wristband, and can go in and out of the locker all day.

Robo: Thank you for the answers!

kaybird: We won't have MBs because we'll be staying offsite.

dawnhaze: I'm going to have to look for one of those waterproof pouches. Won't put my cell in it but would like it for ID, cash, cc (just like you described).

I like that the lockers are an all day rental as opposed to having to keep feeding them $.

When I go to the waterparks, I take the minimum of "stuff" that I will need just for that one day, when it comes to valuables. I wouldn't bring my entire wallet, even knowing I would be locking it up in a locker (I'd put my wallet in the room safe in my hotel room). I'd just bring enough money for the day (for food etc.), my ID, and keys, and lock them in a locker.

Probably wouldn't bring my cell phone unless I really needed it - and would certainly lock it up in my locker.

I don't exactly trust the little waterproof pouches you put around your neck. I think it would be too easy for them to fall off (or "float off") when you're on the slides or in the wave pool. I'd rather put everything valuable in my locker and just have the locker key (which is on a stretchy band you put around your wrist).

FYI: I used to always keep a key to the car with us, safety pinned inside a little pocket on the inside of my swim shorts. Then I found out our newest car has a microchip in the key as part of the ignition. It is a security feature. If it gets wet, the car won't start.

Everything gets stuffed in the locker,we then go ride, come back to the lockers to get money for lunch, eat, back to the lockers to put the wallet away, back to the attractions until we're ready to leave, back to the locker to dry up and dress, turn in locker key and get deposit back.A locker is a must for the waterparks,I wouldn't trust leaving my stuff on a chair,I would be stressed out all day.

They sell the water wallets at the water parks. I have used them multiple times to keep some cash, my room key, ID etc. I think the small ones (about the size of a credit card and about 1/2" thick) are about $8. I just wear it around my neck all day and have never had a problem. I also use it when going to the parks. They also have some that are a little larger and might hold a cell phone or small camera.
I think some of the stores like Dick's or Sports authority also carry similar items. I leave the clothes, phones car keys in the locker.

I bring the bare minimum and always get a locker. I did lose the key once and I believe they opened it for us? However it is always nice knowing my stuff is safe and not on a chair somewhere. I bring my swim coverup, very little in terms of ID/debit/cash, sunscreen and sunscreen stick for my (admittedly super tiny) tattoos, and hair ties. I even forego the sunglasses since I'm afraid to lose them in the water.

All in all I think a locker is your best option! Once my friends and I got 2 lockers for 6 of us and it worked well, but we did bring only a very little each.

Maybe we're just lucky... But we do water parks every year... Never rented a locker... Never had anything stolen. We just leave what we have tucked under our chairs. As a matter of fact, we frequent various local water parks (Hershey Park) all summer long and have never used a locker... And have never encountered a problem.

I am planning to visit the Disney water parks and have a doubt. Studying "Typhoon Lagoon" and "Blizzard Beach" maps I see that there are places that say "Lockers Rentals" and others that just say "Lockers", Does anyone could explain me what is the difference between each?. Thanks ;)

We use these on every vacation and LOVE them! My phone, ID, credit card and bit of cash go in and I wear it all over the place. We normally vacation in Hawaii, and I've swam in the ocean daily for two weeks straight wearing this around my neck and never had a leak. (I tuck it inside my swim shirt) Just be sure to follow the directions and do the paper test as recommended when you first receive your pouch to ensure it is leak-proof. (I write on a napkin with washable magic marker as it would smear if it got wet or moist, never had it happen, though).

I normally buy my Aqua Pacs through Amazon as they are normally a bit cheaper.

Good luck!

The places marked "locker rentals" are where you go to rent lockers. The places marked "lockers" are locations of lockers, but not rental locations.

By the way, the locker and belongings handling procedures you used 15 years ago are still usable the same way today. Towel rentals, too.

why don't you bring a credit card, debit card, or gift card to pay for stuff instead of cash? That way you won't have to worry about it getting wet. My DH pops it in his swim short pocket.

You could leave everything else in the locker for the day.

we use water wallets for our cellphones and leave our stuff on the chair.

Hadn't thought about this. Will everywhere in the water park take gift cards? I know some of the "carts" in the parks don't.

Or you can put cash in a zip-lock bag, which is what we do.
