Water Park Free Admission

This is a perk for staying at any WDW onsite resort! So, our reservations count!

Yes you can as you have a new reservation for each split.
what's stopping someone from making consecutive "one night stays" in the same room type / location to get daily admission to the water park? ....other than the chance of not being able to stay in the same room and being forced to pack up and move??

Nothing that I know about, but I would not want to go through that hassle to attend a waterpark.

It’s one thing if you’re moving resorts or staying in a studio on the day you fly in and then move to a larger accommodation, but I’m not going to be doing what you propose although I guess it’s possible

Member Services also has a tendency to merge consecutive reservations for the same room type and resort if they have the same name.

Its really not a hassle. When you show up you would just tell them you are staying multiple nights so you keep the same room.

The only question is if they link them will it cancel the multiple waterpark days? I dont think it would but not positive.

Really?

Is this new? I haven't seen it automatically being done ever. Sometimes you might purposefully keep it split as you might be changing rooms or doing the dining plan for only part of the stay.

Yes. I remembered this was discussed previously. It happened to some people. But I don't think this is happening to everyone though. If you want to keep your reservations separate, it's a good idea to have two different names as the lead guest. I have a waitlist that went through once and then member service merged it with my existing reservation automatically.

It did happen to our friend. She had book a PVB Studio and then later added a day before in the same booking category as flights were cheaper. She then bought the 1 day QS Dining plan to use the mugs for length of stay. They ended up merging the reservations and cancelling the DP.

I think that they would prevent this like they did for the dining plan…which has been reported that people have been able to do it recently.

I personally wouldn’t want to do it because my luck they’d make me move rooms. But I split stay so we will always get a waterpark day mid trip if we want!

If you really want a water park each (checkin) day, you need a different room type or view to ensure the reservations won't be merged.

YMMV regarding asking the front desk to waive the view change if you stay in the same room (yet still checkout and checkin).

For me, it would be way too much hassle just to try to get a free water park every day, when you consider every resort has an adequate pool, and water is wet no matter where you go.
Absolutely, plus it is just a short stroll back home to get ready for the evening.

they Sure Do! I had a 1 BR unit booked at BCV from Dec 8-10 and same type of unit for Dec 10-13 at BCV. I did it this way to book the Dining plan for the two nights and the last three nights most of our dining would be at the food booths during the Festival of the Holidays. At the time of making the reservation, I explained to the cast member of why I made the two reservations and he thought that it was a great idea. About three weeks ago I got a new reservation number with all five nights on one reservation. I called down to explain on why I had made the reservations that way and they then put it back to the two reservations with notes on not to merge them again.

In case you haven't seen this, the Disney water parks are in trouble. The attendance used to be double what it is for the single park that is open, for EACH park. Don't get me wrong, both are still great parks, but the video is right - there has been almost nothing done in either park in a LONG time.

It's true they haven't been upgraded in many years, but I don't generally go to a water park and expect thrill rides. The original Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, Texas hasn't been upgraded in nearly as long, and they are still really busy.
It just may be a case of all the locals checking out the new guy, as I'm sure will be the case with the new Epic Universe as well. While everyone appreciates new tech, and better themes, not everyone wants roller coasters. There's still a place for for well themed flat rides, trackless rides, and omnimovers.

I don't think I'd classify them as "in trouble" as water parks are pretty cheap to operate once they are paid off, and Disney's should have been paid off long ago. It is just the liability/injury insurance and CM/labor that are major costs, and that is certainly controllable for Disney by having only one water park open at a time.

It could also be that water parks, in general, are not the draw they used to be, except for some locals, as every resort on site has a decent pool, and people are shortening their trips due to cost, that would even be true of Universal.

We are doing this for our summer trip. Booked a studio on fly in day... then the next day we move to our 1 bed room soo we can then use waterpark ticket that day.
