Water park annual refurbs

PLEASE tell me the post/link at the top of the DisBoards is wrong. It says:

Typhoon Lagoon Annual rehab closed- 10/28/2012- 1/5/2013
Blizzard Beach Annual rehab closed- 1/5/2013- 5/16/2013

5/16? The 16th of MAY? Blizzard Beach is going to be closed for over 4 months????

You can always just check the park hours.
They tell you what parks are open and when.

Both Water Parks are open beginning March 17, 2013.


While NO calendar is (or could be) 100% accurate,

Yeah, I saw this too. I hope it's not true. We moved our Xmas vacation (where we had FREE Dining) to spring break JUST so we could go to the waterparks. And now one will be closed - and no discount (week before Easter). Just my luck!!

Thanks, Robo. I knew operating hours were listed on the regular calendars, but since it was just posted yesterday on the Dis as a 'closed for refurb' notice I was afraid it was a new change.

I mean, a longer closure would be fine if they were adding some big new feature, but I'm glad to know it's a typo and that both water parks will be open as usual by Springtime.

Not saying if its true or not but it could be possible to have a 4 month refurb. Two years ago (I think) TL had a long refurb. They needed to replace the floor of the wave pool and do some major work on the pumps for the big waves.

As Cheshire Figment posts it took a month for the concrete to cure.

Again not saying its true but it can happen.

I've already let the webmasters know.

The correct dates for Blizzard are January 6 though March 16, with reopening March 17.

The official paperwork I have received related to winter redeployment of Part Time Cast statused to the water parks states that we will return to the water parks on March 17, 2013.

Thank you for the info. We are going that week and BB is a must do. If it was May 16 would have to switch things around!
