Water Mice Question

We just returned from our trip and had a question about the water mice.

We rented two boats at the Contemporary and both of them seemed quite slow out on Bay lake at full throttle. Other boaters (in the water mice) passed us up all the time.

Is there a better place to rent the water mice where they go faster such as Ft Wilderness?

Unfortunately, getting a fast water mouse is like hitting the lottery. We have had good ones & bad at the Contemporary. My DH returned a bad one he got & they replaced it with one that he said was "awesome". I had a real slow one but didn't bother going back.

Next time if I get a slow one I'll return it for a fast one though.

My sons did a lot of watching before they chose which resort to rent the water mice from. They found the best ones seemed to be from the GF, also Poly's looked pretty "zippy". They could tell because GF ones had passengers wearing red life jackets (at least that's what they figured).

It is very random. We had fast ones at the Poly and slow ones. We even went over to the Contemp and rented a boat and got a slow one. When you get a fast boat it is fun.

It also depends on how big you are. Im 250 lbs and mine didn't go very fast at all. All these kids were zipping around and it was like I was standing still. We were going so slow my 3 y/o son fell asleep.
