Water light parade and resorts?

When I was little, we loved to stay at the Contemporary and watch the water light show parae go by every night. Do they still do that parade and can one see it from WL? I am trying to choose between WL and CR.

We enjoyed the light parade at WL and CR. You can also see it at GF and Poly.

I love the Electrical Water Pageant! I've watched it from the beaches at the Poly and the GF...

DS and I love to find a swing to sit in, kick off our shoes and dig our tired toes into the cool sand and watch for the King Triton float to cruise past.

Thanks for the info and posting the times and viewing sites. I wonder if it started earlier when I was young. I can't imagine after a full day of Disney we were out at the beach at 10:05 every night!


Are there any rooms to request at WL from which you can see it in case my kids are already sleeping?

I don't think it started earlier, but there were only two resorts for it to visit then. Now there are 4 so it takes twice as long!

We still love it as much as we did when we were kids and now our kids love it, too! It's one of my personal favorite things about WDW. A tradition for me and my family. Enjoy!

It also goes by FW so it had three stops in the old days. In the "old days," it probably was at the CR by 9:20 or so. It has always started at the Polynesian at 9:00 unless MK fireworks are at 9:00 in which case it starts as soon as they end.

I love it too although I still miss the old music.

I could be wrong on this, but I think you have to have a courtyard (pool) view to see the parade at the WL. I don't think it is visible with a woods or standard view.

Just stayed in a courtyard view at WL and we could hear and see it everynight in our room at 9:35pm. All of a sudden we would hear the music and we would realize it was the water pageant. Just stepped onto the balcony and viewed (kids slept right through it). I never went down to the beach to see it, but it would have been a great view.
