Water in the pools and spray areas?

This may be a dumb question. My parents were on a cruise a long time ago where the pools were filled with sea water. Is the water in the pool fresh or do they get it out of the sea?

It's fresh water...

I remember going on a trans-atlantic crossing in the 60's and the pool was sea water. The pool was drained in port due to the pollution so we could only swim on sea days.

The Disney ships have fresh water.

It is filtered sea water. It is just like the other water on the ship. The sea water is turned into fresh water by osmosis.

Hi OP, no question is a stupid question . The water on all the Disney Cruise ships have fresh filtered water in pools and other water play areas! Have fun
