What have you found to be the best water bottle for schlepping around the parks? What about for kids?

My wife has a fanny pack with a holder for a water bottle and we just by whatever they sell at the park and put it in the slot on the pack.

A Brita filter bottle, it takes out the funky taste and fits any kind of cup/bottle holder you may have in a stroller, backpack or hip pack.

You can also get insulated sleeves to put them in.

The Bobble filter bottles are shaped a little funny.

For kids anything they can hold and open up themselves. Process the water through the Brita bottle first.

a lot of people don't like the taste of Orlando's water. I happen to like the taste, but I've been drinking it my entire life. It's better than most other places I've been.

So a lot of people are going to suggest the Bobbles, Britas, or anything else with a filter.

However, I will say my friend had a Bobble and accidentally left it in her car last summer, and it melted. Not a lot, but enough misshapen it. That might have been a fluke, but I don't know.

Whatever brand you end up with, I highly recommend an insulated one.
A few years ago I went and took a real basic metal water bottle, and it just did not keep anything cold in the summer heat. The next year I took an insulated Thermos brand bottle, and that worked immensely better. Both years my husband took an insulated, stainless steel one from L.L.Bean, and that one was wonderful as well.

As for taste, we didn't mind the Orlando water at all, but I also brought some of those packs of lemonade mix to put into my water.

I have purchased a few of these and love them. They are a little pricey but the water stays Ice Cold all day and the bottle doesn't sweat even in the Orlando heat and humidity. There use to be a Disboard discount I will search a little and see if its still out there.

Tervis now has a water bottle on their website. It's a little pricey ($25), but to have the Tervis insulation and guarantee, it's worth it.

This.
DH got a Brita filter bottle on sale at Target before our Aug 11 trip. We still love it to bits. My Bobble bottle got chucked in the garbage. It was not comfortable to carry.
Plus, the Brita bottle has removable/replaceable filter. The Bobble needs to change the whole cap.

I actually thought of that as a plus for the Bobble. After awhile they can get chewed up.

One thing I did do on our Brita's is remove that silly carry strap. It kept the lid from screwing down tight so they leaked.

I'll be bringing a foldable water bottle. I think Vapur is the name of the company that makes them.

I agree about be Bobble being a weird shape. I like it because of it's water filtering (made the icky tasting Disney World water taste normal). While the odd shape makes it very comfortable in the hand, it makes it easy for it to slip out of side drink-holder pockets on back-packs and bags. I lost it on the airplane because it slipped out of the side pocket on my backpack :-(

I did like using it at work because of it's filtering. (City of Indianapolis water tastes funny - I think it's the 105 year old mains!) The cap was also inconvenient, and it made a sucking sound when re-filling. I did get a lot of compliments on it though, so :thumbsup2 for the Bobble's "cool" factor.

So, now I need to get a new one and I'll probably get whichever I see first - Bobble or Brita.

I wonder what the top/spout of the Brita looks like. I'll be checking that out. I saw the whole changing of the whole filter and spout as a plus for the Bobble.

DH did not like how the Bobble's filter was always wet. He felt like there was always bacteria growing in it, so he never drank from it.

I have both a bobble and a britta water bottle. The bobble was fine for at the resort as I could put it in the fridge to keep it cold, but the top is too small to put ice in it so for the park it wasn't ideal. The britta has a much wider opening and is much easier to use. The bobble is also made out of a harder plastic than the britta which makes it harder to get the water out of it. I bought a two pack of britta water bottles at Walmart in the hardware dept. for less than $15. You can buy replacement filters there too. I use my britta water bottle everyday at the gym because I like it so much.

We like the Brita's. Just refill from the water fountains in the parks.

My absolute favorite to take anywhere is the Platypus soft bottle. They are lightweight, durable and hardly take up any space when not filled. They come in different sizes and some even have an insulated pouch.

Before our last trip I got a couple of carabiner clips that can hook to the neck of the water bottle and they were great to clip onto your pack or belt loop.

Another Hydroflask user and can concur that they are great at keeping the water cold.
I ordered one and had it delivered to our hotel for arrival.

Two days later we ordered another as ice in the hydroflask was still frozen on day 2 :thumbsup2

i wouldnt even carry one, you can walk up to any stand that sells soda and get a cup of ice water and the water is filtered, and its free.. its much easier then having to carry extra things and its colder.

We too left the water bottles at home last week and opted for the free ice water from any counter service area. They would give you a large cup like they use for soda. And it tasted just fine. I brought drink mixes because I don't care for the taste of Florida water. But I think this may have been filtered. It tasted great!
