What is WDW's policy on outside food and drinks? Going in June and have two small  kids that do not eat much, and looking to save abuck or two.

Officially, no outside food/beverage. We, however, regularly take a few water bottles each, trail mix, veggie sticks, and cheese sticks into the parks. Occasionally, a security guard will joke that (s)he wants some but we've had no problems.

Definately take them. We had no problems both years that we went. We took both snacks and drinks, and saved a ton of money. We were on the dining plan, but we drank way more then what we would have gotten from that off of the snacks.

The good folks at Disney were nice enough to provide an official reply to me about this:
Dear Brian,

Thank you for contacting WALT DISNEY WORLD!

With the exception of food items for guests with specific dietary restrictions, we do not permit guests to bring food and beverage items into our theme parks.
Generally, however, plastic bottles for water, juice, etc. are allowed.

We hope this information is helpful, and we look forward to future opportunities to entertain you.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if applicable on all correspondence, and allow up to 80 hours for response to E-Mail.

Thank you - and have a DISNEY day!

Sincerely,

William Ferguson

They expect their guests to comply with the policy, but don't take any heavy-handed measures to impose enforcement.

I am still going to bring my own, I would go broke with the amount of drinks my family comsumes on those long hot days at $3.00 or so a bottle. If it came down to it, I personally would suffer with the drinking fountains. I wouldn't torture my kids with that nasty warm stuff, but for us a family of 5, it would cost us $15.00 for us to all have our own bottle of water, and cover that 2-4 times a day, we'd go broke on water. There are plenty of other things that I would rather spend my money on than water. :teeth:
