Can anyone give me some information on the water activities at the Contemporary? I thought it would be nice for my teens when we go. Like the watermice & parasailing. I saw it was run through Sammy Duvalls? Is there a way to contact them to get the information ahead of time? Thanks for any help.

We have rented water mice several times over past trips. Always lots of fun, especially for teens. I think they need to be 12 to drive one by themselves. You rent them at the dock, something like $20 per 1/2 hour. They give you life vests, and you just go! There are other types of boats, but they really cost more. I know the Birnbaums books have a nice chapter on other things to do (like water sports). Try your local library if you don't want to buy one.

Good luck!

We did this on our last trip. We had a discount by using our PAP.
We thought we would give it a try. This was one of our kids high-lights of their whole trip.
We will be doing it again on our next two trips.

I think this time we might do the pass for the whole trip. You can use them for the whole time of your trip.

Water Mice are always a favorite of my teens and my DD and I went parasailing at Disney earlier this week! It was a lot of fun. Here's the number for Sammy Duvalls at the CR: 407-939-0754. They ask that you make reservations and cancellations 24 hours in advance. A parent or legal guardian must accompany guests under age 14 for parasailing, wakeboarding/tubing or water-sking.

Have fun!

Thank you for all the replies.

To KarenC - you stated a parent or legal guardian must accompany anyone under 14 for the parasailing, waterskiing and wakeboarding. Does this mean the parent actually has to do the parasailing and others with the person under 14? If they are 14 they can do the activites without the parent? My DD will be 14 and DS15 and I don't like heights so I definitely won't be parasailing. I would up there with my eyes closed the whole time, but they kids have no fear about it.

I'm not really sure what that means...but if they are 14 and over they can definitely participate without you. You'll just need to sign a release before they can parasail.

Anyone know what the rates are for tubing? That sounds like fun!

How fast can you go with their personal watercraft? Is it considerably faster than a water mouse? Can you still travel over all of Bay Lake?

Brenda

The personal watercraft are jet ski type things (how specific!). There is a course set up, you can't go wherever you want. I have been looking into renting these, but I'm not sure that my teenagers will want to ride on a course for an hour.

I believe that the tubing is the same price as the skiing/wakeboarding.
