Has anyone gotten up early to watch the ship come in to port and if so where is a good place to watch?

I've watched it go out, but I can't imagine getting up to watch it come in. I value my sleep too much. And the time it comes in is somewhat unpredictable. Although they are scheduled to arrive in Port Canaveral, they are often fully docked prior to 5:30. But if you really want to do that, the best place would be from Jetty Park (www.jettypark.com).

I can't IMAGINE getting up to watch the ships come in. I don't even know if you can get INTO Jetty Park at those early hours.

We were scheduled to dock at 6 a.m., but when I woke up at 5:40, we were already tied up, and by the activity level on the dock, had been there for a while.

Have more fun. Watch them leave on saturday, sunday or thursday.

I woke up at about 4:30 yesterday morning and we were just coming through the channel into Port Canaveral. I watched from my veranda for about a half-hour, then went back to bed as we were turning around to push into the dock at the terminal. I couldn't see much more at that point anyway since we were on the port side.

The Coast Guard escorted us the whole way in, and kept what few boats that were moving in the port at that hour a safe distance away from the Magic.

There are probabaly places in the port where you could watch from. It's too bad that Grills doesn't open for breakfast until 6:00.
