Is anyone else watching this? I find it very moving and a mix of sadness and relief that his suffering is over. Nancy looks like she is trying so hard to be strong in her public grief, as do the kids.

I'm at work so I'm not watching it but my heart goes out to Nancy. They had such a devoted life together and although it must be a relief to her that he is not suffering any more, her heart must be breaking.:(

Nancy

I have been watching it...:sad1: :sad1: I lost it when she laid her cheek against the casket...

I've been watching as well. Mrs. Reagan looks sooo.. tired. My heart goes out to her, I'm sure the last few years have been so hard on her. My grandmother is in stage 2 alzheimers, and the road ahead scares me. I'm sure Mrs. Reagan has had many sad days in recent years and she probably lost her husband long before he died. My prayers are with the Reagan family, so sad to watch.

my heart goes out to the family. but really... does every network need to broadcast this? I missed my lunch break I Love Lucy.

It was very moving and extremely dignified. Reagan is getting a proper farewell.

All the camera clicking got on my nerves though.

I didn't watch TV today because it's our first day of vacation and I am trying to get the kids to watch less. I am fascinated by this stuff though. I remember watching Truman's and Johnson's funerals when I was 9. I'll for sure be watching the funeral on Friday.

Yes, I think that this is something that the networks should be broadcasting.

I also think this is something that the public needs to see and the networks have a right to be broadcasting. There are many, many, many people out there that won't be able to attend any of the memorials and for us, this is the only way for us to get to be a part of it. And for those of us in the midwest, it's especially more meaningful given he was born where he was born.

I sympathize with the family and I am sure he is at peace. One question I do have (don't flame me!!!) is who is paying for his transport from CA to DC and back? Is that our taxpayer dollars hard at work? Once again, I don't want to debate this, just curious!

Broadcast on EVERY channel as far as I am concerned.:o I feel for Nancy, not many women will stick by her Husband these days, if they are ill.:( May she have peace........Faith (shelbyjosh--they dock my pay for the next month, I will be happy to PAY my PART!).

Yup - our great tax dollars at work. And I, for one, am proud they are being used for this. I'm sure in later years when some others pass, I won't be so proud, but I feel the work they do, they deserve to be honored. I wouldn't want that job for my life!!!!

Is that our taxpayer dollars hard at work?

Very possibly. It is a state funeral after all. The last one we had was over 30 years ago. An appropriate thing I think.
