I am looking at going to Epcot either on a Monday or Tuesday. I realize Monday is Extended Hours. However, I will not be taking advantage of that since my kids will not be able to stay up that late anyway.

I have a couple of questions:
Will the Monday night Harmonius show be more crowded than Tuesday because people will be moving over for the extended hours?
Which day is better, less crowds during day and night - Monday or Tuesday?
When does Monday night get busier at Epcot? Is there a huge crowd surge there after 6 when MK closes or other parks?

Thank you

Extended hours have very little if any effect on crowds. Pick whichever works best for your schedule. No real difference between Monday and Tuesday.

Just did this last night, actually. Took afternoon break and went back to EPCOT around 6:30. Yes, it seemed like there was a bit of a surge going in. However, this is Fall Break week and seems to be the busiest week of 2022 so far. So, wouldn't base anything off our experience.

I would consult touring plans crowd calendar. I don't think your Harmonious experience will be affected much at all.

If you can book on extended evening day you get an extra shot at VQ for GOTG at 6 pm (only Mondays currently). You can potentially ride it twice.

If you get the VQ for GOTG at 6pm, when do you ride usually? Before 9pm or do you get scheduled during the extended evenings 9-11? Seems like this opportunity will create more people coming to the park from 6-9.

So you can get a VQ at 7 am or 1 pm AND another at 6 pm (Epcot park passes required for the first 2 and you need to be scanned in; park pass or park hopper for 6 pm, don’t need to be scanned in).

It looks like the ride times for the 6 pm VQ will be for the extended hours only.

We watched the show on an extended evening and even though we didn’t want to stay the whole extended time, riding a couple rides before exiting allowed the crowds for the buses to thin and worked out great.

Thank you. How were the crowds from 6-9 and also for viewing Harmonius? Crowd surge during that time? Day time crowds normal?

Thanks for the tip about the 6PM VQ! I didn't know I could try for it without being in the park.

I don’t think you are going to get a clear answer on this because it is really hard to gauge crowd levels for harmonious since the viewing area is spread all around the lagoon and not all spots are created equal. The best spots with a clear view of the “stargate” will always be packed even on a light crowd day, and the slightly obstructed views (eg further back from the water, behind trees) will always have plenty of space available, except on NYE.

We were discussing this on the dedicated thread. Just make sure you have scanned into a park beforehand. It seems like for some people MDE wouldn’t recognize their tickets or something (DVC members).

But I suppose if you were stuck with travel delays it wouldn’t hurt to try. For the 1 pm drop you have to be scanned into Epcot.

It’s hard to say about crowds because we were there the first week of September when crowds are very low anyway. We spent the 6-9 timeframe eating a disappointing dinner at Coral Reef and riding rides in that area. We came up a little too late for the show just as it was starting and the area between the old future world and World Showcase was pretty packed. We stood in the food booth area across from the new bathrooms and the old temporary Starbucks and could see pretty well. There were some trees in the way.

Thank you. You were there on a Monday?
