I hope this is the right forum for this question, but does anyone know if you can watch the MK fireworks (specifically July 3 or 4) from a resort you are not staying at? We thought of having dinner at Kona and drinks and then watching the fireworks from the Poly. Thanks!

You sure can, just head down to the beach area and find a good spot. It can get a bit crowded those days and the bungalows may interfere with your view. They pipe the music along the beach area of the Poly.

Pretty definitely not from the Poly beach on 7/4, and very possibly not on 7/3. You could go over to the ferry dock, or walk along the path (and maybe be able to see on the walkway) to GF, or ride the monorail to DR and watch from the shore of maybe the fourth floor deck, or eat at The Wave.... and ditto. Typically those nights, the Poly beach is restricted to Poly guests.

No
As @kaytieeldr stated the Poly beach is restricted TO Poly guests on that night.
You can see and hear from the TTC

Got it. Will have to save the beach for a non holiday firework night!

we stayed at the poly over the 4th in 2016. we watched from our balcony on the 3rd, but the kids wanted to try a different view on the 4th. we walked down to the small beach near the TTC, since it was close to the building we were in. it wasn't crowded, and no one was checking to see who was staying there and who wasn't. there's a better view of the castle there than from the main beach, and we enjoyed having a little elbow room.

I think if you dine there you are allowed to view from the beach? I feel like that was the policy when I was there on NYE and eating at Ohana, but we went back to our hotel to watch so not entirely sure.
