Watch your AKV points

I was just on the phone this morning with MS adding a night to my May reservation at VWL. I knew I had to borrow points from 2008. However, When the reservationist told me my left over 2007 points, it didn't seem right. She actually used my AKV points to make the reservation. I caught it said, "Wait, I didn't think we could use those points yet." She said, "You're right...but the computer let me do it." Hmmmm......I had her switch it back to make sure I have enough AKV points for when I want to make my ressie there in the Fall.

Just an FYI - to keep a look out for your AKV points and make sure they don't get used.

That's true, you can't. However, the computer system let the reservationist do it. I wouldn't suggest trying to do it because it might mess everything up.

I just wanted to post this warning because if you call up on the May 16th date to make your AKV resservations you need to use AKV points, and if the points were used already by accident it could cause some headaches, I imagine.

Thanks for the "heads up!". This exact scenario happened to me a couple of hours ago, but because of your post, I was prepared . I had the CM put my AKV points back and use other points from my 2008 use year .

BTW...I think you are the same person who posted the tip on the the Transportation board about the Sat to Sat $29 SW Ding flights from IAD to MCO...thanks again...Now I only have to show my husband these posts for him to know that it is YOUR fault that we are going on yet another unplanned trip to Disney

i called 3/2/07 to add a couple of days to my spring res. and the cm quickly said i could use my akv pts. to do that. i replied that i did not think they could be used yet and she said i could use them at a different resort not akv. i told her i did not take the extra points incentive but the discount price instead. she then told me i could use my new akv pts earlier than they thought. i made sure she understood that i plan to use my points for akv in the fall and do not want to use them now. i quess everyone should be careful when making res not to let them use those pts if you don't want them to.

it is a little strange. do you think they are trying to keep us from wanting or being able to get res at akv in the fall? do they think there will be too many of us for the number of rooms they will have ready and available? that seems a reasonable assumption.

It's a good idea to ask for a "points recap" at the end of every call to MS. If your records don't agree with MS, it is SO MUCH EASIER to fix it right then and there.

I don't often find a discrepancy, but when I do, fixing it right then and there with the CM who "misunderstood" is priceless!
